Self hypnosis and guided meditation

What is the difference between Self hypnosis and guided meditation? Can you help me learn about this tradition? Give me a place to start. And you can of course ask me anything.

Peace

I'm no expert but The main difference between the two, in my opinion, is that self-hypnosis tends to have an end-point in mind – whether it is to make you more confident, help you to overcome fear or anxiety, to cope with everyday stresses, rediscover your inner wisdom, develop better-eating patterns, sleep better, stop smoking, etc.; whatever it is… you enter self-hypnosis with a goal in mind. Meditation, on the other hand, has no particular goal to aim at, other than, in its purest form, it is the complete emptying of the mind. The end game for true meditation (unlike the guided form I have already mentioned) is to be able to free the mind completely of all thoughts.

I'm no expert either, but I hope you saw my reply to you in the other thread.

Again, I'm no expert, but YouTube is a good place to start. A real-life hypnotist is the best place to start, but failing that, YouTube has a lot of stuff. Search for "hypnosis <topic of interest>.

It's wise to listen through first while consciously "switched on", at least until you get to know and trust someone's channel. I mean, anyone can put anything on YouTube. I wouldn't want to let just anyone put stuff in my mind.
