Focus and multi-tasking

Postby jacob92486 » Sat Dec 03, 2016 11:32 pm

Hi,

I've been having problems with multi-tasking at work. My workplace is mainly manual labor, but I have a variety of duties I have to be on top of. I have no issue with focus, but I seem to have too much focus. I tend to have tunnel vision focus, in which I forget to stay on top of all my duties, but have no problem getting them done, often when I'm reminded by my co-worker. I have a strong work ethic and am not lazy, but I feel like I am focused to a fault. I have a hard time being aware of the bigger picture, so to speak. It's gotten to a point that my job in being jeoporadized.

I have a doctor appointment next week to see about going on medication. I also have anxiety issues that need to be regulated, which I think have something to do with it. Does anyone have any insight or advice? Again, I have no problem with focus, I'm just very forgetful about my job dutiies, and sometimes fail to accomplish them thoroughly.

our brain cannot multi-task
what happens is we shift our focus from something to another really rapidly so we fool ourselves to believe we doing it but its not

one has to have a list of priorities on the notebook, to remind what to do if his day is too busy
as the memory may fail you, that has nothing to do with multitasking you habe to keep reminding oneself what to do and its a memory challenge
