Introduce yourself...

Hi All -- been here lurking for awhile but not formally introduced myself

My level of Hypnosis is what I would term 'low--basic' I am very new to the whole thing, zapped a few friends, family & work collegues and it just keeps getting better & better

I filled out more details in the 'How you got started' Thread but I am a Quality Manager and one of the biggest problems anyone in my role faces is human error. I love psychology & decided to try to understand why some people accept suggestions & others don't, why some have attention to detail, take pride in their work - what motivates them?. So lots of reading & I stumbled upon Uncommon Knowledge, great site which has helped me lots, and got my interest in Hypnosis really flowing

Long-term I would like to understand all the factors that motivate different levels of employee's, what kind of language patterns are best used with differnt personalities to get them engaged in their role. If I'm honest I love reading & enjoy writing in my free time so long-term I would like to write a book on 'Human Error' from a Quality Control perspective, mixing my knowledge of both

My name is Greg. I am from Australia. I have been studying and reading about this subject for about three years. I have participated in couple of distance courses and have found that I have already read all aspects of the things are being relayed. I find this forum to be a wealth of knowledge because it is not a hard copy, it is what is being practised right now.
Certified or not practise makes perfect and i know there are a lot of very knowledgeble people here and i enjoy your information because i usually go strait out and try it(sorry do it). I have probably hypnotised about 40 times so I guess you could call me an ametuer.
I do this for fun not money, when fun turns into money if ever I will be one happy guy. :D

Hello...

I just signed up today and am interested in hypnosis for self-improvement.

Let's see... my experience includes being hypnotized (to quit smoking) and I have used some guided meditation cd's occasionally. (The guided meditations are calming but haven't really done much for me otherwise.) I've also been regressed a few times (once by a psycologist) and have been told that I am a good subject for hypnosis because I "trance" easily.

Anyhoo, my main motivations for self-improvement are to bolster my self esteem, put a muzzle of some of the negative tapes that run in my head and generally improve my daily life by enhancing my outlook.

I look forward to exploring more. :)

Thanks Anthony! I'm familiar with this brand of message board so I've seen the error before. It seems to be working now though.

Hi Everyone,

I've been interested in hypnotism for years. A few years ago, I bought McGill's Professional Stage Hypnotism book and tried to hypnotize my sister's friend. I was trying to get her to fall backwards. She said she felt the force puling her backwards, flipped out, and was afraid to continue. Haha.

I forgot about hypnosis until I found some hypnosis videos on Youtube a day ago and then happened onto this forum. I'd like to learn hypnotism and maybe make some money with it in my spare time. I'm also looking forward to getting Ant's book.

Hi Ratman,

welcome along. Time to dig out that Encyclopedia again. There are quicker ways of doing that dropback too - outlined in this forum I believe.

Hello

Is there a scientifical langue for "the wall of noise" which you meet when you are falling through really deep hypnosis? I read about it in "Psychic Warrior". I think there is some mumbojumbo in that book, but I recognize "the wall of noise". In my case, I meditated by concentration meditation (on a spot) during a period of my life. Two or three nights during this period, I dreamed about some kind of mark or hold for the eye and began meditate from dreaming state. This was quite another matter than beginning awake. I falled really quick. When coming near "the wall of noise" I experienced death fear which prevented me from going further.

I have so many thoughts about this and am quite qurious. I think concentration from asleep could be done with an association mechanism like a beep which is first introduced during day sessions, later at night, but I have never tried, for several reasons.

How many is familiar with "the wall of noise"? I remembered the major feeling to be total depravation from any incoming sensation, and absolute serenity. How can you control this process by will?
