under 1000 cal diet for 5+ years

Postby drummerdude23 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 4:00 pm

First off I want to thank everyone for opening up on this site to help each other through our unique and personal issues to gain massive self improvement. Being a chronic weed smoker, these have helped a lot.

I'm 23, 6 ft, 134 pounds, bmi 17, - underweight. I eat only healthy foods and rarely eat out. I probably have a mild eating disorder or it's all stress induced on top of smoking 3-5 joints a day. I clearly need to eat a balanced diet to increase calories/protein and nutritional levels in the 2000-2500 range as I want to gain weight, work out, and turn my life around forever.

Here's my issue, I'm a successful young entrepreneur and musician, but my life is being destroyed by my lack of self respect for myself. The chronic weed use over the past 3 years was just me escaping reality, which has led to the destruction of my social life, (friends, family, business) I've always generally disliked my body and childish figure.

I'm weaning my self off smoking weed to a once a month type thing. I personally see the medical benefits vaping marijuana in moderation rather than the damaging effects of alcohol, cigarettes and cocaine.

So with all this said, what experience or suggestions would you have to help me push forward with this?

Have any of you had similar eating problems?

Thanks

Hi drummerdude23,

I had self esteem problems that I sorted out with meditation. It worked so well I wrote my own and put it for free on youtube, I like helping people and I've had lots of positive feedback - check the comments!

Hello,
Please realize that stress can lead you to do many things. But it is always good to never give up.
sometimes we human want others to understand us than we do to them or for them to love us when we don't.
But if we tried to not seek to be consoled as to console others or to be understood, as to understand or to be loved, as to love others then we will realize how life is wonderful.

Thank you

An idea could be to start trying to make food fun. Take time out of your day to cook your self a more elaborate meal and then you can take satifaction from eating it. Perhaps cook with other people or invite people over for dinner, this will help with both your calorie intake and the social life issues that you are dealing with.

Do you smoke your joints with tobacco? Weed is supposed to increase appetite where as tobacco decreases it so I would try and cut down on the tobacco and when smoking weed (if you intend to continue) then stick to the vapouriser. Hopefully this will increase your appetite.

If you don't feel like either of these will help then purhaps start keeping a ridged food diary and have a target amount of calories that you have to meet every day. At least this way you can keep track of what you are eating and you are making sure that you are getting a more balanced diet.

Hopefully this helps :)

Julius - Thank you sir, Last night I meditated at the beach, and after some deep focused breathing I opened my eyes across the lake to see a light, at first I figured a boat, but it was slowly rising.

I assume most of you have seen the moon rise before, but it was massive, orange and beautiful, and it made me realize how I needed to simplify everything. Again great videos as I'm going to use some of your affirmations in my own voice recordings, very helpful thank you.

John, great points and I will being to follow them. I had forgotten however when I had a best friend who needed a place to stay for 3 months, at that time I was happier, eating better and feeling more alive. I quit weed to succeed as I'm simply not one who can handle it. My job requires my mind, creativity and focus, it's not been easy but I know I'm on the right track to natural happiness.

Kyawkilyo, you are so right. I went through some dark times of depression where I had given up, but being where I am now I'm a stronger person. I realized its NEVER to late to start again whether you're 23 or 63.

Man I love this forum.
