Over a 2 year period (Im sure somebody can do it in less) I was able to get the habit of excerising when I needed to, eating the required amount of meals and calorie counting. I calorie count on myfitness pal and I purshased a bike machine to use at home. So theres 3 steps

1. Proper amount of exercise
2. Eating the proper amount of meals
3. Counting calories

So you are obese and worry about success and confidence?
I was A LOT like you. Fat all my life and felt unworthy...however i was very focused on my studies and did alright.

Apart from that I have many examples I know of personally.
-Steve Wozniack was obese and jobs was getting over weight before he developed his cancer
-Carlos Slim is obese
-Warren Buffet is obese
-Charlie Munger is obese
-My father is a US dollar millionaire and he was obese most of his life.
-Alisher Osmanov, richest person in Russia is obese

DO NOT equate weight to achievement, confidence and self worth.
Please PM in case you need more details

Weight loss is all about a set workout and exercise regimen, eating good healthy foods, and getting enough sleep every day. I used to be very fat but over the course of a year i was able to get into very good shape using the 3 things i just discussed. Good luck and i know you can do it.

Hey antugomes88, don't let your body affect your outlook on life. That is not all what matters. What matters is what makes you happy and successful.

Knowing what human beings eat helps to. We are "starch adapted frugivores"(herbivore), not omnivores. We are designed to eat sugar and starch as 85-90% of our diet.

Carbs(sugar&starches) do not promote weight gain in overfeeding trails(I'm not allowed to post links):
1. The proccess in which glucose is converted to fat(de novo lipogenesis) has a 30% energy cost.
2. The reason people think they gain weight rapidly on carbs is because you can store up to 2 kilograms of glucose(from the carbs) in your liver, then you will have more weight from the glucose in your blood, then you can have up to several pounds of glycogen(glucose) stored in your muscle mass. Every 1g of carbs, retains 3g of water weight. Sodium retains tremendous amounts of water weight.

It is impossible to be trim or lean on the American diet without having an eating disorder.

A high-carb low fat vegan diet is not dangerous for type 1 & 2 diabetics, as you will see in the research of every doctor below(the exact opposite is true). Fat paralyses insulin, and blocks its receptors, and prevents glucose(blood sugar) from entering your cells to be metabolized into energy(anedosine-triphosphate). Sugar makes insulin work better.

I have used every diet in the world that involves eating food, and some that don't. I'm a sadist; I love to watch things suffer, and yet I'm still vegan. There's a good reason for it.

Unlike any carnivore, or omnivore:
We have a sacculated colon.
We have digestive enzymes in our saliva
Our stomach acid is pH 4-5(as with all herbivores), carnivores and omnivores have below pH 1 stomach acid.
You can look at everything about us and compare it to any omnivore you wan't, it is blatantly obvious.

I reference the following individuals back what I'm saying:

Dr. John Mcdougall
Nathan Pritikin
Dr. Denis P. Burkitt
Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn
Dr. T. Collin Campbell
Dr. Walter Kempner
Dr. Michael Kaplan
Dr. Neal Barnard
Dr. Michael Greger

We are not meant to count calories, it would make sense to do such an unnatural thing "if": having an abundance of food was unnatural, but that's not the case, the ancient peoples around the world had an overabundance of plant foods for thousands of years at a time(that's why the started building sh**) and they never had obesity epidemics. The only people that ate animal foods before 1700 A.D. were: wealthy, fat, and sick.

When it comes to looking at the other side of this:

If you look into the "Masai", who eat mostly beef and dairy: They look fit, but their average lifespan is about 50yrs, and autopsies from 300 specimens have revealed extensive atherosclerosis(risk of heart attack and stroke), capitations arteries(high risk of aneurysms), and osteoporosis(risk of bone fracture).

If you look into the Inuit Eskimos you will find even worse results.

I encourage anyone to see the contrast and look at both sides of this. Here are some opposing(low-carb, ketogenic) doctors:

Dr. Robert Atkins
Dr. Jeff Volek
Dr. William D. Davis
Loren Cordain
Professor Tim Nokes (known for his research in hyponatremia[water overdose])

Hi,

Yes ofcourse obese people are successful...there is not doubt..There is no connection between obesity and career success of a person.. I have seen so many people in my life who are fatty like a drum, but they are more successful than me..I sometimes get jealous of them..

Ans, please don't feel bad if you are obese. try some remedies, exercises or yoga to overcome your obesity. Obesity comes with lots of health problems so try to reduce your fat and do not loose your confidence.. OK..let me help you in this..I have found out an article for you on Mynahcare, read it and implement in your life. Celo Green is quite obese but he is so confident in himself. That's what makes him successful. He has tons of girls as well. All you need is confidence, a man without confidence is like a lion without teeth. Work to get your confidence up and you'll be gold my friend.

The most of the successful obese people include men and women who despite being overweight, have found mainstream success. These actors, actresses, musicians, politicians, pundits, and even athletes are all household names who either became famous despite being obese or packed on the pounds after they rose to fame. its doesn't mean success depends upon obesity i thinks success depends on man hard work and honesty if you work hard and properly success is yours ..

success of one person doesn't really depends on their physical body.

correct me if I am wrong here but I just wanted to point out certain people who are less fortunate that has disabilities who are successful. what I mean here is that we can all be successful, just the way we are as long as we are not crazy or insane that is.

But of course yes, Being obese is not an excuse for you not to be successful! It's all about the courage and courage you are willing to practice, not to mention the trust you must work on. :) :)
