looking for advice/opinions

Hi folks

new to these pages so first of all id like to say hello,
i'm a 34 yr old bloke from the west coast of Scotland and my working background for the last thirteen years has been in social care, primarily as a young persons worker for kids and young adults with special needs.
i am in the very lucky position of loving what i do (every day is different and you can assume nothing :P )

i have noticed that during my working life so far a large part of what i do is very counselling based...and finally the penny has dropped for me that it would benefit me greatly if i could develop skills in this area.
i have decided to look into this and so far the COSCA counselling skills training course seems like a good idea

basically hoping that some of you guys will have experience and give me your opinions?

Hi pagan, It all depends on the kind of clients you are dealing with. My experience has been mainly in the area of drugs addiction and "mental illness', where I combine nutritional therapy with psychotherapy.

I have written a book Getting off the Hook.

You might want to investigate this.

If you can afford the time and money, a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Worke may be your best option.
