Dear Ciera,

I am so very sorry for you. Of course this would be very tragic for you.

You say it will be a year in May. That might seem like a long time, but Something like THIS might take a while to fully process through. But your mood will eventually stabilize as you learn to accept your Life on its new terms. Also, I assume you have asked your doctor if your irritability or depression may be influenced by hormones, or the lack of hormones resulting from your Operation. You may only have to take a pill to feel better
.
About your Life, well, your sisters are having babies, and that makes you an Aunt – Aunt Ciera. You get to spoil all their Babies. I remember growing up, my Favorite Relative was Aunt Vivian – she was so nice and sweet! I’m sure every time she walked in the room I, and all the other kids, lit up with Smiles. That must have felt very good on Her End.
But you have to return home after your visits to your Sisters and their children, and you still have the maternal feelings to deal with. Now, this next idea may sound almost so simple as to be dismissive, but it certainly isn’t meant to be. May I ask, do you already have a Pet? With Dogs or Cats there is Care, Dependency, Affection, and even Fun and Frolic. Pets certainly aren’t Babies, but they ARE the next best thing! I myself have 4 cats. Yes, they certainly are NOT the same as Children, but after a hard day at work on that drive home, one finds one’s self looking forward to seeing them greet you at the door. People with Pets do not suffer the same Loneliness as people who really do live All Alone. And even if you are in a Relationship, well, Relationships do not always run smooth, but a Dog or a Cat will never get mad at you or stop talking to you, or go out and not tell you where. Pets are Reliable Companionship – More Reliable than any Person usually ever is!

Also there may be the problem of your irritability becoming a bad habit. While it is Understandable that you would be irritable at this point in your Life, try to keep it to a minimum so it doesn’t become habitual. How do you do that? Well, first, keep yourself from using Swear Words. Cussing and Swearing only rile you up… its actually upsetting to Cuss and Swear – you make yourself feel Worse! . And then there are the irritations and daily frustrations – Stuff Happens. Try to just let things go. Try not to comment on the Bad Accidental Things that happen, or the irritating things that People do, if you can honestly put up with it for a while. Try not even to think about the Bad Things or the Irritating things that happen throughout the day. Why ‘cry over spilled milk’, right? This is really in integral part of Anger Management, to learn how to NOT let the usual things bother you. I found myself this morning doing just that… I was studying Math (I’m Retired but I am thinking of being a Math Teacher as a Second Career) and little kids were yelling and screaming near my window. I found myself thinking “they’ll be gone in a minute”, and I went back to my studies… then it occurred to me that it was my Anger Management training at work – I don’t even have to think about DOING IT anymore…I am doing the right things just because I practiced doing them so long it became a GOOD HABIT . SO, Try to Stay Positive, and when you go negative from time to time, which you certainly will, well, just PRACTICE pulling yourself Out of the Darkness and back Into the Light
.
Again, I hope the very best for you.
