Whilst in essence, this is true great content and emotional connection with that content will often outweigh the too polished performer.

Hi,
Along with presentation skills you should be also be able to connect with the audience.

Everyone love humor. Adding some humor in your speech can help you to get attention from your audience.

What you are saying is correct in principle where you say everyone loves humour.

Unfortunately humour relies on good timing and novice speakers most often, have lousy timing.

In my book I ask:

“Should I tell a joke?”

My answer,…. “No!!!”

I think effective presentation skills are only based on the self confidence. If you are confident about what to present then you will surely address your audience.

The most important part of a presentation is to figure out...

What is your end goal?

Figure that out and then focus everything on guiding your audience toward that goal.

It sounds simple, but a lot of experienced presenters still get this wrong.
