I can't eat enough anymore..

Postby Flimsy2.0 » Thu Jul 03, 2014 4:57 pm

The minimum of calories per day is 2000 kcal. I struggle to get to 1400 kcal and some days it's less some days it's more.
Once I reach my limits my stomache starts hurting and i just want to go to sleep...
I've already been to many doctors and they can't find anything.
I don't know what to do anymore. I'll be send into one of those clinics maybe that'll help me. Nothing else works.
Is there a way to stop the curse?

Pay no attention to calories. Pay attention to your body. Your body knows what it needs. If you're not feeling "hunger," don't eat. If people around you say anything about it, learn to keep your own counsel.

Yeah, this calorie counting madness can't be good for anyone.
But still I don't eat enough before going to sleep and then I wake up in the middle of the night and my stomach hurts terribly and my heart too.

If you can't stop counting your calories then why don't you make a better diet plan that could help you to get 2000 kcal calories everyday.with minimum meal if you can't eat much.

If you can't stop counting calories make a diet plan that is counting calories??? Sorry but that's how I understood ya.

It's just that some days I eat enough some days I eat almost nothing and have to deal with incredible pain in my stomach and my heart. There seems to be no way to stop it.

That 2000 calorie is a "suggestion" applicable to an average person with average build. A large person burns more a day, and a small person burns less. Depending on your lifestyle and activities, some people need more and some people need less. The spread can be quite huge.

I'm short and slim. I have friends who are more than 1 ft taller than me and probably weigh double my weight. Do you think the 2000 calorie rule applies evenly to both of us? No!

try this:
the sit will not let me post a url, so do a google search on "BMR calculator" and click the link that is from my fitnesspal (should be the first or the second link that pops up)

This site tells me that my BMR (the amount of energy my body needs to function and sustain its weight if I was completely inactive) is around 1200 calories a day. This gives me an idea of how much I should consume daily in the minimum to sustain my weight - obviously I would have to eat a bit more than the BMR since I do "move" LOL.

1400 calorie is in the lower end, but it's certainly not something to be excessively concerned about. You are probably unable to eat more because you are full. If you really want to cram in more calories without feeling sick, try incorporating foods in yoiur diet that has high calorie content - to- weight ratio. Things like dried fruits, cheese, and nuts may not weigh much but has calories packed in them... you can consume more calories without feeling full.

You don't mention if you are under stress, but from my experience I would not let it get out of hand.
I have had appetite problems since childhood. Grew up in a messed up home. Now, looking back I think my loss of appetite was from the stress. I would not feel hungry at all some days. Other days I would eat then feel nauseous after eating.
In 3rd grade I had to go to the school nurse because my heart was hurting so bad. I hadn't eaten since the day before.
I also think, for me, not eating turned into something I could control in an uncontrolled environment. Kind of like kids who cut their selves.
To the point. I am now 31 and my body is worn down. Some of the damage I have caused is irreversible. I still have appetite problems, but I focus on drinking lots of water. Don't worry about calories. Try easy but nutritious. Eggs, soup, V8 juice, peanut butter, apples, cheese sticks, protein shakes. Eating small portions every couple hours might help if your stomach hurts after eating.
