Unlucky love life

I've never been in love, when I date it feels like that (I guess?) but it fades in a matter of weeks. After that I just don't feel it and start to question and feel nervous. I am a 29 year old male and start to feel frustrated about it. Is this normal? I have dated quite alot but only had one relationship in my life. It's not that I am desperated to find a relationship I enjoy my life as a single, but at my age I start to have a feeling I would like to share my life with someone.

I am dating someone right now that I already know for a couple of years and always had interest in her, but since we started dating I feel the same. When we are together it's fine but as soon as we separate the questions take over my mind and I feel miserable and insecure. I just don't know if it is rather an issue on my side or just unlucky in finding the right person. I really would like to continue but scared at the same time, because I hear stories everywhere that if you don't feel it immediately it's not right.

Any advice? And what should I do?

You've known this girl a couple of years and always been interested in her, so just relax and enjoy it, no need to make any promises based on feelings you don't have. You say it's "fine" when you're together and that you "really would like to continue". That's more than enough for starters and better than a lot of couples start out.

Shortly after my husband and I got together he told me we'd met about five years earlier and on that occasion I'd had a go at him for teasing a dog. I remembered having the conversation but not who with... So yeah, it's nonsense that you have to feel grand passion on sight for it to be genuine.

Intimate relationships are the way we learn about ourselves and mature, a lifelong process. Be honest, and you can't go wrong.
