You've been in this situation before. How did you get over it last time?

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Alot of things can contribute to this even though you haven't had the fear for a while.

If you have been under other stress lately, then this can affect your nerves. OR, if you didn't sleep well that night. OR, if you had too much coffee or certain foods can trigger your nerves. Sometimes, it's not always a lack of prep but rather other factors like mentioned above,

Cheer up, you'll kick it next time:-)

Quiet Girl,

You are not alone. In fact, many people still retreat to being scared or intimidated to experiences that feared them in the past. Think about what helped you overcome your fear of public speaking and ask yourself what happened this time. Why didn't it work? Perhaps you should come up with a pre-speech routine where you write down a few key points not on your speech but your delivery and poise. This may help. One thing that helps me is knowing that almost all people get nervous speaking so it's natural. Hope this helps.

The better you prepare the less worried you'll be. If you practice your presentation with a peer, or a family member it'll help!

Good luck on any future presentations and how'd it go?

How did the presentation go? If you were fully prepared, were you on track to speaking what you planned for or did you wing it because you were scared? It is important to practice in front of friends and peers. If you don't have that option, practice in front of a mirror! It shows how you are looking at the audience, your posture and emotions. Hope it went well. It can only get better!
