Correlations between emotional distress and language?

Postby academic » Wed Feb 25, 2015 12:01 am

Hi all,

Can you please recommend studies into the correlations between emotional distress (i.e. anger) and changes in the use of language and/or social behavioural patterns?

Many thanks!

I would say pick up the book:

"Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life" Paperback – September 1, 2003
by Marshall B. Rosenberg

He just recently passed but provides excellent tools and methods to identify language patterns used to disconnect us emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. What you will quickly discover is not only how correlated what you are saying is, he has specific methods and techniques you can use to permanently identify those patterns and holistically connect the dots.

He also has a center dedicated toward this. Please Google The Center For Nonviolent Communication.

A must read and have in your library.
