Finally someone from my corner of the world!
I don't personally know Rick Collingwood but I believe he's very well respected in the clinical field of hypnosis over here, and was instrumental in deregulating hypnosis here in Western Australia a few years ago.
This is about Rick being asked to teach hypnosis to ......Mel Gibson.
Is the world a safer place...I'm not so sure?!!!!

Very interesting article indeed. Shows that even back then, hypnosis could indeed work with a lot less mysticism than seems to be common.

Brilliant!

Here's one that mentions the great Dave Elman, but not as the hypnotist!

You can find several recordings of Dave (Kop) Elman's Hobby Lobby on the net for free.

If you want a CD version, you can get two Hobby Lobby shows from

http://www.otrcat.com

The CD will cost you a whacking $5 and something like $2-50 shipping. and at that price, it won't break anyones bank.

The Hobby Lobby episode with the interview about the "liquid air" hobby is priceless and quite un PC in todays world.

Edit: addition

I forgot to say, if you search on site otrcat for the word hypno, you will see a dozen or more show that are hyponosis related. While mostly fiction, (e.g. Murder by Hypnosis) the shows do give an insight to the way hypnotism was presented to, and perceived by, the masses at that time.

Also of interest is the show "Moon River". Read the blurb and have a listen to the content. Note the music, the effects (yawning etc), visualisation, affirmations and suggestions, and then while still using the hypnotic voice, slipping in adverts for the matresses / beds, hmmmm.

Kev and I worked on a segment of a new quiz show coming to ITV on Saturday night very soon.

Our episode goes out on 24th July. It will provide 5 minutes of hypnotic madness. We are well pleased with how it went.

Set your recorders and let us know what you think.

That's a new business opportunity. Just need to adapt existing hypno tracts.

Any quality scientific studies to support it? No, I didn't think so.
