Need Help "MS in Counseling and Psychotherapy"

Postby Timon787 » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:15 am

Hello,

One of my friend wants to do MS in Counseling and Psychotherapy. Even he had some mental issues(hearing voices) and was under medication from past 3 years approx.. Still he is taking some tablets and he is really fine now.

Is he eligible for joining the Masters course? In the sense if he joins the course will it going to affect him?

Kindly suggest me in this regard.

Thanks

Having personal experience with mental illness may be an advantage in counselling, provided the person has overcome his problems. If he has a psychotic problem this may not be easy. But treatment failure is often due to professional ignorance. He should familiarize himself with the nutritional aspects of "mental illness".
