Update as of Friday 28/1/22

Last week I came down with a cold and felt low. I knew quitting was not going to happen.

This week I am better and finally decided that I will start on Wednesday(Tuesday 25/1/22 23:36 last smoke)

Got 2 days under the belt. First day wasn't bad apart from waking up at 4 in the morning and then going back to sleep at 7.

Yesterday night was difficult as chest and throat felt tight but did some breathing exercises and felt calm. Sleep was same as first day. Woke up at 4 but went back to sleep within the hour

I haven't felt any PAWS yet. Longest I've gone clean is around 2 weeks where I had a wave of really bad depression which made me smoke

This time round I am not going to cave in. I'm really grateful for everyone's advice here and take everything on board.

Onto Day 3!

Day 4

Today feels tough. Weekends I normally use from morning to evening especially Saturdays.

Throat feels tickly all the time and last few days have had episodes of shortness of breath. Am carrying on with breathing exercises when these happen.

Fatigue seems to have kicked in as well in the mornings caused by broken sleep and low appetite.

Hope symptoms subside as I push on through the Weeknd

Nice one mate! Weekends I find tough as like you was smoking from first thing in the morning to last thing at night! I’m now into my fifth weekend ‘clean’ and I like it! Previously would be tired, eating poorly, not concentrating on family stuff and just waiting for the next spliff. Quite a chore really! Todays been good. Watched some movies (which I was actually focussed on) and went my mums for dinner. Now having a bath then will watch the golf. I’ve also been sleeping weirdly but that’s a small price to pay for all the other benefits I am experiencing. Wait till you get more days you will feel better and better.

Once again we’ll done mate

Haven't posted in awhile. Relapsed a few times from stress and just not feeling good. However reset on the 4/2/22 so today is my 10th day without using. I find some days I have okay days and some days like today I feel really down, anxious and fatigued.
Normally I feel like this when I've had broken sleep or just haven't been eating properly. Determined to carry on this time round and usually pop a nurofen if I start having headaches. I also purchased some valerian from Holland and Barrett which seems to help with anxiety. Apart from that I try not to tire myself out like my previous quits as I find when Im super tired my cravings go through the roof.
Will push through and keep this journal updated. Any tips on fatigue or tips on when feeling down would be appreciated as these seem to be my main symptoms currently

Today I hit the 2 week mark. First time in a few years since u have done this. I'm still having good and bad days. The bad days being tired, anxious, lack of motivation to do things and general feeling of being down throughout the day
The urge to smoke has disappeared so that's a positive.

A lot of the symptoms I put down to broken sleep where I'm still waking up between 3-4 and taking a few hours to get back to sleep.

I have read that the 1 month mark is where most people feel a difference so will push through. I'm going for 90 days after which I will accept I have broken the habit and stop counting.

Headaches and flu like symptoms have also stopped which was quite heavy during the first week. Appetite is on and off but I make a note to get calories in even if it does mean eating a bit of junk just to make sure I have energy.

Supplements I take for anxiety is valerian root which seems to work. Exercise I am looking at getting back to after the 1 month period as if I currently do that it just makes me more tired and anxious. Quite difficult as I was going to the gym regularly but I know this works for me currently just staying as relaxed as possible.

Will update on the 3rd week!. Keep pushing through.
