Are you hungry when you want to eat? Does it go away after you eat?

Your food portion should be around the size of your clenched fist, no more than that!

3 meals a day of that size and you will lose weight (assuming you have the weight to lose)

If you find that too smaller amount, stuff yourself full of vegetables, nothing else just steamed or boiled vegetables, that way you can eat huge amounts of food and consume very few calories.

Some people never feel full after a meal. I have read gut inflammation and the bug h pylori affect hunger/appetite hormones making you prone to over eating, as you never feel full or satisfied. Some of the weight loss programs focus on anti-inflammatory nutrients for that very reason. I dont think appetite is as psychological and in our control as people make out. Imbalances with zinc levels are often a root cause for eating disorders as well.

Research shows that if you focus on what Not To Eat, your brain will search out these things like a target missile. Instead, determine what is healthy and is good for you. Take fruits as an example. Focus on actively searching these things out to eat instead. Don't even bother to focus on what not to eat. Experiment shows that you may lose weight from this.

Learned this from Willpower Instinct by Kelly Mcgonigal, PhD.
