Hi Connie,
I am new to the forum, but ever so glad I found it. Just a bit of background: I am 50 y/o and have had panic disorder since I was 19, although when I had my first attack, no one really knew what it was all about.
Fainting is the least of my worries...dying is the biggie for me.
Thank heaven a lot of progress has been made in the last 30 years. It would also take a book for me to describe what I've encountered. Unless you actually HAVE this disorder, it's very difficult to describe to others, and really, we shouldn't expect them to understand...but oh it is so nice to find people who do!
The most trouble I've been having over the years is working. My home is my "safe place", thus I've provided daycare in my home for years, just retiring from that on January 30th of this year. My old body just couldn't take it anymore!! I am a Licensed Paralegal (Legal Assistant) and also am a Certified Medical Transcriptionist...I'm in the process of updating my computer skills, as well as taking a new online course in transcription...lots has changed in that field in the last few years!!
If you would like to discuss this with me in private, my email is
[email protected] I'd be happy to communicate with you. I have some nifty ideas that may be helpful to you.
