Replacement for the word "Sleep"

Postby bluewingmr » Mon Nov 23, 2020 6:01 am

Hey, so I've been doing hypnosis for about a year consistently, and I'm really surprised by how fast I progressed and how easily it is to induce a trance for somebody. The one thing that remains constant with all the instant inductions and rapid inductions that I do, is that I always say "sleep". In some cases, I notice that this seems silly and cliche to a participant. I think that my success rate might go up if there was another word that I could use that wasn't as cliche and common as the word sleep. Has anybody ever experimented with using other words during inductions, or seen anybody else do it?

The recreational hypnosis community frequently uses the word "drop".

Thinking more about it, I also know a hypnotherapist who uses the word "deep".

I agree "sleep" is clichéd (not to mention inaccurate).
