It is commonly believed that the thumbs up and thumbs down gestures originated from the Ancient Roman gladiator fights, where if a gladiator was knocked to the floor, his opponent would be given a decision made by the Emporer whether or not to kill him. Thumbs up for life, thumbs down for death. In actual fact, this is not true. Thumbs down meant drop your weapons. A clenched fist stuck out meant death. Thumbs up was never even used.

Do the following:
1. Open the Microsoft Word, and type "NYC" (all in uppercase letters)
2. Change the Font Size to 72
3. Then change the font to "Wingdings"

You should now be seeing an image of a skull and crossobones, a Star of David, and a thumb-up symbol, read by some conspiracy-minded folks as a symbolic approval of the killing of Jews.

Microsoft denies its involvement in any sort of conspiracy and says its a pure coincidence.

To counteract the bad image created by this scandal, Microsoft created the new font "Webdings" If you repeat the above procedure again but change the font to Webdings this time, you should get:

An Eye, A Heartmark, and Skyscrapers = I Love New York
