13 Month Breakdown

Postby iHatePaws94 » Tue Feb 22, 2022 11:29 pm

Hi everyone,

I am now at 13 months and had been feeling relatively good for the last couple of months. All of a sudden a few days ago I was hit with one of the most intense panic attacks I’ve ever had. I was on the floor shaking for hours. Nothing triggered it I was just having a normal day and was at home alone. Now I’m currently in a wave that feels as bad as the first few months of Paws. Is it normal to have one of your worst waves after a year clean? It’s incredibly frustrating to be feeling like I’m finally getting myself back and then feel like I lost all my progress. When will this nightmare end so I can get my life back

I just hit a year and right before that mark I had a horrible wave. I do not believe there is any common theme but have heard that some people have a horrible wave before things clear up for good. I have been doing a lot better also but hit a wave I think a few days ago. Mainly some anxiety and weird physical symptoms. I would give it more time and just do your best. I can say that right this minute even in a wave I feel so much better then I have felt in a year. I wish you luck man and remember time is the true healer.

I can relate to what you both have written. I just passed 13 months on the 19th and I have been in a very very bad wave. I thought I was through the worst of this (see my post in December) but then it hit me again almost as bad as in the beginning. My symptoms that hit again: dizziness, body pain, brain fog, brutal depression and utter hopelessness, lack of motivation. These all went away before and they will go away again. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone.

Yep, if you go back to my own story post, I wrote about how I was having another bad wave at month 13. Same thing as you. Was feeling relatively normal for a couple months then BAM. I always try to attribute it to outside factors when it happens, like drinking coffee or trying keto, but I think I just need to accept it's the cycle of PAWS. I had three days of borderline panic attacks and then one day with an actual panic attack. Now I feel like I'm recovering all over again, but it's still not as bad at the first 3 months. No more panic, but I have insomnia and I wake up with headaches. It's like a bell curve of symptoms. I get some weird anxiety and body aches and then it culminates in a few days of really bad symptoms, and then fades back to normalcy over the course of a month.
