LostWoman,

It's funny, I changed schools because I hated that my classmates were like your students. I then attended a "non-traditional" university, Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN if you want to look it up. Many grown adult students. Parents and mature adults who decided to finally pursue or finish their degree after giving up on it in the past, starting a family, or changing their career. Now those were some of the best classes I ever had, and I'm glad I switched. Such engaging conversation with serious students eager to learn. Downside: more night and online classes to accommodate students' daytime jobs.

You got into teaching for a reason. Undergrads are some of the most ungrateful students, even less than high schoolers, since high schoolers are often concerned with/driven by "making it" to college. Maybe it not you, it's them?

Best,
Gina

Yes leave the job. Personal happiness should be the only thing that matters to anyone. After all we are all here for a limited amount of time. We must make the most out of each moment. That said,

1. Figure out what you want to do

2. Get an opportunity lined up

3. Make sure your have an adequate amount of money saved up to prepare for unforeseen circumstances

4. karate kick your principal as you leave **optional**

This is your life. Live to be happy. Never settle for less. (and other motivational quotes)
