At some point it will be realised how excessive social media affects our thinking, creating social hysterias and substituting education. You see, the two groups are pretty much the same:
The hyperchondria group that fears a virus, beyond rationality.
The paranoid group that fears it's all a plot to depopulate the planet or microchip people.
Both groups fall short by tending to ignore real knowledge passed down to us. The sources used are sadly taken from unreliable web pages, accepted without deeper investigation. On the said conspiracy site I attempted to forward some accepted sources, taken from recognised books. Such as Krushchev's personal testimony of WW2 from the well-known memoirs published in the 1960s. I found such an approach was not only unwelcome, but all content was removed. Why? It contradicted the truth people "wanted" to hear. That famous term by E Bleuler and Freud "Ambivalence" where "like" shapes processing.
These groups first sketch out "the doctrine" and then randomly seek evidence that supports that view. Evidence that contradicts the desired view is rejected. Moderated out. And that's why these large sites have monitors. These people create a kind of flock by establishing a hierarchy. Trust me, on such a site it would be easy to post data tailored to what is the desired reality. I just figure that's not what any science is about. Would Plato indeed have told the Sophists what they wanted to hear? Very sadly, the internet actively promotes likes and preference over the search for unbiased reality.

I was lucky to have read a lot of research about cults years ago. It wasn't serious research but The Moonies were pretty big at that time. I learned how cults manage to "program" members.
Psychologists know we need some sort of pattern or doctrine to explain bad things that happen. We associate one fear with another. We fail to be aware that things like wars or government policy can happen as circumstances evolve. The craving for a reason why is met by conspiracy. "They" are behind it. "They" have a plan to take control of the banks and oil resources. If we can maybe expose "them", maybe we can get past the crisis. Mostly "they" are the illuminati or (God help us) the dreaded Anunnaki - those interlopers from Planet X who carry out genetic manipulation. Then, the Men In Black who visit your home and "advise" not to talk about UFOs.
And always the secret data is hidden by NASA and not some control station for meteorology in Kazakhstan. To me that exposes a huge flaw in psychology terms because it shows how cultural media controls thought. People watch American UFO movies and then assume all spaceships must crash only in America. Not the Basque country or South Africa. Meantime, the illuminati always seem to be either linked to White House policy, or exposed by American pseudo academics.

For me, deciding on issues regarding health must be kept aside from charismatic opportunists who peddle information, only to promote an agenda.

Couldn't agree more.

You are talking about the theroretical virus, the Chinese Communist Party's desire to control every citizen of the world, and the mainstream media's compliance in peddling information to promote this agenda, aren't you?

This thread is about censorship. Are you aware just how much of it there IS now?

Count me in for both of those, plus the transfer of wealth from the masses to the already-super-rich.
Oh, but they'll need lots of willing slaves, so why not transhumanism-by-jab? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xUk1F7dyvI and of course when Klaus Schwab says "our" he means "your".

Maybe, one can use discernment in choosing who fits such an online profile, knowing that liars and deceivers are anywhere and everywhere. Confidence in what?

I agree these are issues but have chosen the approach Jiddu Krishnamurti stressed. That is, forget groups and systems. As mentioned, what I found was a fair deal of hypocrisy and I became concerned the conspiracy groups were pushing anti semitism. Just because I believe nobody should be forced to risk rushed vaccines doesn't mean I identify with the overall values many of these groups represent.
So, I have to stand on my own judgement. Of course it's easier for me as I'm used to being a social outsider.

The following story of the HFA hacker reveals much. First it shows that security really can be abismal and nobody yet claimed Mckinnon's hacking was "meant to have happened". On the contrary, authorities were totally furious over the hack.
The often ignored and obvious truth is that colossal messes take place because some people really are "that stupid". When we protest and say, "Can't you see? That was what "they" intended to happen, we overcomplicate the total, mind-boggling picture.

"Why the spectacle? McKinnon has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism.

A few months after the World Trade Center attacks, a strange message appeared on a U.S. Army computer: “Your security system is crap,” it read. “I am Solo. I will continue to disrupt at the highest levels.”

Solo scanned thousands of U.S. government machines and discovered glaring security flaws in many of them. Between February 2001 and March 2002, Solo broke into almost a hundred PCs within the Army, Navy, Air Force, NASA, and the Department of Defense. He surfed around for months, copying files and passwords. At one point he brought down the U.S. Army’s entire Washington, D.C., network, taking about 2000 computers out of service for three days. U.S. attorney Paul McNulty called his campaign “the biggest military computer hack of all time.”

Worrying to think how popular a conspiracy guru can get. David Icke who reinvented himself as a champion of anti-vaxers has the most weird beliefs but is taken seriously by millions of people worldwide.
In the 1950s George Adamski convinced millions he had travelled to the moon in a Venusian spaceship and became a celebrity.

"Adamski called himself a "philosopher, teacher, student and saucer researcher", although most investigators concluded his claims were an elaborate hoax, and that Adamski himself was a charlatan and a con artist.Adamski authored three books describing his meetings with Nordic aliens and his travels with them aboard their spaceships: Flying Saucers Have Landed (co-written with Desmond Leslie) in 1953, Inside the Space Ships in 1955, and Flying Saucers Farewell in 1961. The first two books were both bestsellers; by 1960 they had sold a combined 200,000 copies."

Comparing my sum all-over total of website "likes" with Dave Icke and Adamski would suggest articles of intricate conspiracy are rated far above what I aspire to be, one day, well-researched psychology.

"It is clear that Socrates had a poor reputation and unpopularity in Athens, resulting in him having to commit suicide by drinking from the hemlock (an Athenian equivalent of the modern electric chair). However, the huge positive impact he made upon those who knew him well, such as Plato, allowed his teachings and method of argument to be recorded for future generations. In his life, Socrates truly proved to be a revolutionary thinker and justly earned his place in history as one of the great moral and philosophical intellects of all time."

This is true. I know cases personally. Here are some problems for you to chew over:
(1) The vaccine is naturally adversely affecting some people.
(2) The vaccine is said not to stop your passing on the virus.
(3)Those who had the vaccine are by all accounts getting the virus regardless.
(4) Those who had the vaccine are still wearing masks and still terrified.
So, surely the vaccine is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard!
We have a vaccine that you "must" take that doesn't do a damned thing (excluding undermining health).
What is crucial to note that possibly 50 per cent of this crisis is rooted in people on the street. Most are hypochondriacs. Indeed, my female shop friends are terrified of me despite their vaccines while I am not remotely worried for myself (unvaccinated too). This is why I view it as a social psychiatric illness.
Apply logic to the above and none if it adds up. It would only make sense if the vaccine worked.
