But, yes, it does sound better than my Advice, which is "take the beatings and wait for payday". Work is something we have to endure. Put on blinders and do just enough work to not draw attention to yourself. Keep your head down. Bosses feel threatened by employees who can obviously perform at a higher level than they can. So Bosses give Good Employees Bad Ratings to keep them down. You are likely to get a better rating by just staying low and saying "yes sir" all the time.
But, Yes, of course, I wish we lived in a world where we could Thrive in the Workplace and where your good advice wouldn't create the kind of waves that would rock all the boats.
