Look for evidence that management thinks well of you. I'm sure it's there.

I actually think they do in a way..But i think they also like to take some advantage of it also..I guess I'm not alone in the world thinking this way

It's always best to interpret things in a positive way. If other people treat you badly, consider that they might just be having a bad day.

From where I'm standing, the modern workplace looks like hell. Everyone's chasing money, talking themselves up, taking out their insecurities on other people. If you can rise above that, have tons of faith in yourself and just aim to do the best you can, you'll be ahead of the game.

They have something to prove. You don't, because you know.

"I have nothing to prove."

You'll see evidence of that now. And you can show your strength by complimenting these insecure people when they do something well... perhaps even do a bit of delegating. Assume superiority and start acting more like management. That'll show 'em!

I like yours. So do other people. Start noticing how they behave towards you.

Hi Candid,

"assume superiority and start acting more like management. that will show them".... But isn't that the kind of thing that got you into Workplace Trouble?

But, yes, it does sound better than my Advice, which is "take the beatings and wait for payday". Work is something we have to endure. Put on blinders and do just enough work to not draw attention to yourself. Keep your head down. Bosses feel threatened by employees who can obviously perform at a higher level than they can. So Bosses give Good Employees Bad Ratings to keep them down. You are likely to get a better rating by just staying low and saying "yes sir" all the time.

But, Yes, of course, I wish we lived in a world where we could Thrive in the Workplace and where your good advice wouldn't create the kind of waves that would rock all the boats.

Thank you Bolting you have given me some very wise advice also I feel.
So feeling like workplaces where people are battling the inside with anger sand frustrations is pretty much the norm i take it. Feeling worn out at the end of the day is part of the course I assume too. My job itself of teaching is relative easy...and dealing with kiddos prettystraightforwardtoo..Its dealing with other staff and supervisors which make it hard.
