NOT Dreaming, waking up tired

Postby ssundar » Thu Apr 15, 2004 2:33 pm

I am new to this, and I am still investigating my depression.
I seem to have many of the symptoms, except that I don't remember dreaming much at all. In my whole life I can only remember less than 10 dreams. I have almost always woken up tired.
Any thought?

I'm fairly stupid, but here goes, maybe its a simple case of not being able to remember them? Alot of people who are into studying their dreams have to write them down as soon as they wake up, because it gets completely wiped from their mind a short while later.

Thats the only reason I can think of, sorry :) .

Hi ssundar

Welcome to the forum!

Not remembering dreams is completely normal because that is the way the brain is designed - you are not supposed to be conscious during dreaming. Nobody remembers more than a tiny percentage of their dreams, although depressed people do tend to remember more simply becuase they dream more, and those dreams tend to be more emotionally arousing.
