Hi, some tips i've learnt are...to research your topic, have an idea of where you are going with it,split it into manageable parts in an order which you feel confident with, one part will then smoothly link to the next and also memorize key parts of the presentation which will allow you to be relaxed enough to appear with the appropriate amount of nervousness if that makes sense! What i mean is that if you are too relaxed then people may believe you're not interested in your subject and anyway we all need a certain amount of nervousness to focus our attention.I would advise strongly against reading it word for word or trying to memorize it that way either. What may also be helpful is to use memory pegs.Get a book by Tony Buzan that explains the memory peg idea, its alot of fun as well as being very useful.Lastly when you are presenting your presentation remember to look occasionally around the room and include everybody with your words and by doing this it also makes us appear confident (believe me i've tried it!)All the best, Nick.P.S.It is also a good idea to reveal to the audience your sense  of anticipation and this can also be a good tool to gain rapport with them and after all they are just like you and i with a mixture of strenghs and weaknesses in different areas which can all be improved!

Also i think it is important to personalize it and make it your own and a bit of appropriate humour works a treat too. Am i the first person in this forum to reply to my own post and forget to add the original question!

Hi Nick

I'm not sure, but I think talking to yourself on a forum is just about as bad as doing it in real life ;)

Seriously though, some good tips there.

And welcome to the forums - I know you have only recently ventured into the online world; I hope we will see you here often.

All the best

Roger
