Anxiety is being treated as an emotion or emotional state without any analysis by the psychiatric/ psychological community. Anxiety as
an emotion is
not the truth.
Anxiety is a MIX of two conflicting emotional states.
One is
fear. Fear is an emotion, which is a complex set of processes in the body. And that complex set of processes is triggered when an idea points to an issue of danger or a threat.
Fear or what physicians call the fight or flight response is an elevation of the body's metabolism triggered by actions of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). And the high metabolic reactivity in the body is maintained as long as the issue of danger or threat are perceived to be current.
The other is
worry, which is rumination or circular thinking. This NOT that the person is a fool or idiot. It happens when there is an issue, which
needs resolution, but for which the person has
insufficient information. A danger issue or threat is an issue that needs resolution but if the danger or threat can be cunningly created, then the person has insufficient information to find a resolutions, so it is normal and natural to continue to think about it to find a solution.
The medical industry does not seem to discuss or ever research, from what I have seen, the bodily reactivity involved in worry. Contrary to fear, worry is initiated and maintained by the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The attempt is to bring the body to rest in order to give the brain an advantage over the musculature for fuel materials. The brain uses a huge amount of fuel to function normally and much more so to be involved in serious and urgent thinking.
Anxiety is a mixture of fear and worry. This does not mean that the two emotions co-exist in the body because two ideas cannot co-exist in the Mind. The ideas pointing to the issue of danger or threat arises and gives rise to Fear. That then causes the person to need to try to find a solution, hence the emotion of worry arises in the body. While worried the person recognises that there is a danger issue and that then again triggers fear. And the problem continues with ideas pointing to danger triggering fear moving to ideas of needing a solution triggering worry, repeating endlessly.
Why does this cause a problem, and one may say a serious problem in the body if it continues over time? Because it affects the heart. Actions of the SNS give the heart signals to go fast and actions of the PNS give signals to the heart to go slow. When these two actions continually interchange, then the heart is getting a continual succession of signals to go fast and slow. It seriously affects heart muscles. And while the heart is healthy no test will show anything wrong. But if this situation continues over a long period of time problems do develop in the heart. So it is not trivial.
The medical industry does not acknowledge this. One cardiologist I spoke to admitted that this was true and a serious problem. He admitted that he could see from his many patients that this was the reality, but he said that they had no evidence for it because no research is being done on it so there is nothing in the medical literature. Thus it is not taught at university.
Here is the best action, which I recommend in this case, to ward off the culprits,
https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-brain-d ... yrani-EadeAnd don't worry if you target any one not guilty because it won't do anything to them. It will only work on the offenders because by their ill intent and/ or bad actions they set up conditions in the Mind (a common platform), which make them vulnerable to counter attack in the Mind. The battle is fought and won in the Mind. You don't need to do anything physical.
