Health Anxiety need help

Postby ryobi30 » Mon Nov 06, 2017 3:16 pm

Hello All,

I have been suffering from this specific kind of Health related anxiety related to my heart for the last 2 years. I am 37 years old male.

I often get the feeling that something is wrong with my heart. This makes me end up worrying and focussing on the condition of my Heart at all times (literally 24/7). May it be in the shower or when i am cooking or out for a walk - this feeling is like a constant companion refusing to leave me :(

I do not seem to have classic anxiety symptoms like - heart palpitations, shortness of breath etc. My most important symptom is constant thoughts and focus on my chest - and if there will be any pain anytime. Even a minor twitch or movement in the chest area can get me thinking about it all day. Its safe to say I'm going a bit paranoid with my heart health.

I have been to different GP's twice.

I have done the required bloodwork, Chest X-ray, EKG. Recently I also did a 24 hour Blood Pressure test. All of which as per doctor's diagnosis seems fine.

GP's have not found it necessary for me to be referred to a specialist like a Cardiologist. Nor have they prescribed me anything to calm my anxiety.

All of this hasn't helped me from stop worrying about this problem. My stress levels because of this have been high.

Recently i seem to have developed a rather strange response and sensitivity to certain kind of sounds - cars passing by, footsteps, dishwasher / washing machine sounds - which trigger some weird feeling on the left side of my chest / similar to what it may feel when there is actual pain.

I am very much confused if this is a physiological or psychological condition causing all this.

Thank you all in advance for your valuable advice.

With this kind of symptoms, the only way I could think of is to ask the people who had observes you in your every day life.

Im not sure, but if took this at your mental constitute, could you tell us if there's a possibility the predicament is triggered by something? Like your thoughs, an object you see, or anything pulling it out to surface. If so, try to describe them here.

So in the meanwhile, seeing that you grew sensitive toward surrounding sound, make your ears listen to an expected sound, for example; hearing music with earphone/headset, talking (well we do it all the times... The hell I mark this as example for), or anything that didn't sound monotonous (some melody).

Hope this help, and please don't give up pursuing an healthy life.

Thank you for replying.

No exact triggers i can think of. But i have become over sensitive also over thinking and can't seem to find a way to detach from such thoughts. Im thinking if i need to rule out any other physical issues in my body and then look for help to fix my mental health.

Could you describe better how your heart feels like? Do you worry about your heart beat? or the pain? And have you been experiencing other symptoms other than the constant thoughts and focus on your chest?

thanks i will read about Da Costa's syndrome.

like i mentioned before i have developed this hypersensitive response towards certain sounds - cars passing by, footsteps, dishwasher / washing machine sounds - this triggers some weird feeling on the left side of my chest with some dull pain like feeling. or can feel like a thump or some one will punch my chest on the left side.

i am not sure if all this is a result of the very high health anxiety i have been suffering from for the last two years.

seems bit strange i am reacting this way to normal every day sounds around me like that. i haven't really found too much information about this online.

rest of the time its just anxiety and thoughts like "what if" it will pain.

haven't paid much attention to heartbeat which seems to feel normal

This sounds to me like someone is messing with your mind. The person or persons involved would have to be related to you and maybe even trusted by you or at least related to you in some way, e.g., relative, friend, co-worker.They are false friends but most often masked as to appear genuine.

Have a look at the series of 5 videos I have in my signature. They describe all aspects of the sort of foul games inhumane people play to trouble another person. These games are commonly played to gain power and influence over another person in order to manipulate and control them. But they may also be played for narcissistic supply, revenge and a whole host of other reasons, e.g., take your job.

Only when you know what you are up against can you win against it.

You have to learn the difference between belief and the truth:

Its not about bs oneself with "positive thinking" but you simply know its not truth its a belief and so you unleash oneself from it

"To know the difference between between a belief and the truth" is mincing words. It is real BS.

A belief is based on evidence. I believe the sun will rise in the morning because for nearly 70 years worth of days I have seen that every single morning the sun has risen. based on that evidence I believe the sun will rise again tomorrow morning and the next and so on.

An idea becomes a belief is based on evidence. When a person has only their emotional reactivity to go on, they may treat an idea, which appears in the Mind, as real or valid and hence form a belief.

BUT when a person becomes knowledgeable about the foul games that some people play as I discuss in the 5 video series in my signature, then one can question the idea as they will realise that the emotion may be unrelated. KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE FOUL GAME PLAY is the way out of a nightmare.

Who said anything about positive thinking? If you look through my posts you are going to find that I AM NOT AN ADVOCATE OF POSITIVE THINKING AS A SOLUTION! Having confidence and being positive is important but it is NOT the solution.

Knowing the cheating ways of inhumane people, the snares they set for unsuspecting people is the critical factor needed to avoid the pitfalls or be able to recover if a person has fallen.

The truth is the reality that we are living in a world, in which an inhumane subculture is increasing in numbers and the quiet war they are waging against humane people. Winning the quiet war is what I am about. You obviously did not view my videos because there is no mention of positive thinking anywhere. They are about gaining knowledge of the reality.

Anxiety is being treated as an emotion or emotional state without any analysis by the psychiatric/ psychological community. Anxiety as an emotion is not the truth.

Anxiety is a MIX of two conflicting emotional states.
One is fear. Fear is an emotion, which is a complex set of processes in the body. And that complex set of processes is triggered when an idea points to an issue of danger or a threat.

Fear or what physicians call the fight or flight response is an elevation of the body's metabolism triggered by actions of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). And the high metabolic reactivity in the body is maintained as long as the issue of danger or threat are perceived to be current.

The other is worry, which is rumination or circular thinking. This NOT that the person is a fool or idiot. It happens when there is an issue, which needs resolution, but for which the person has insufficient information. A danger issue or threat is an issue that needs resolution but if the danger or threat can be cunningly created, then the person has insufficient information to find a resolutions, so it is normal and natural to continue to think about it to find a solution.

The medical industry does not seem to discuss or ever research, from what I have seen, the bodily reactivity involved in worry. Contrary to fear, worry is initiated and maintained by the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The attempt is to bring the body to rest in order to give the brain an advantage over the musculature for fuel materials. The brain uses a huge amount of fuel to function normally and much more so to be involved in serious and urgent thinking.

Anxiety is a mixture of fear and worry. This does not mean that the two emotions co-exist in the body because two ideas cannot co-exist in the Mind. The ideas pointing to the issue of danger or threat arises and gives rise to Fear. That then causes the person to need to try to find a solution, hence the emotion of worry arises in the body. While worried the person recognises that there is a danger issue and that then again triggers fear. And the problem continues with ideas pointing to danger triggering fear moving to ideas of needing a solution triggering worry, repeating endlessly.

Why does this cause a problem, and one may say a serious problem in the body if it continues over time? Because it affects the heart. Actions of the SNS give the heart signals to go fast and actions of the PNS give signals to the heart to go slow. When these two actions continually interchange, then the heart is getting a continual succession of signals to go fast and slow. It seriously affects heart muscles. And while the heart is healthy no test will show anything wrong. But if this situation continues over a long period of time problems do develop in the heart. So it is not trivial.

The medical industry does not acknowledge this. One cardiologist I spoke to admitted that this was true and a serious problem. He admitted that he could see from his many patients that this was the reality, but he said that they had no evidence for it because no research is being done on it so there is nothing in the medical literature. Thus it is not taught at university.

Here is the best action, which I recommend in this case, to ward off the culprits, https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-brain-d ... yrani-Eade

And don't worry if you target any one not guilty because it won't do anything to them. It will only work on the offenders because by their ill intent and/ or bad actions they set up conditions in the Mind (a common platform), which make them vulnerable to counter attack in the Mind. The battle is fought and won in the Mind. You don't need to do anything physical.

The mental and physical cannot be separated; they are one.

Since we are not living correctly in regards to diet, that does have an injurious effect on mind, just as mind has an effect on body, as you had pointed out. So, use the mind to find and apply the knowledge of the correct way to live. I direct you to two YouTube channels: John Rose and robertmorsend.

Yes I agree that they are, in some sense, one. But it is hard for us to understand this oneness.

I don't agree with the many bodies/ many minds view. I see that there is only One Mind, the Mind of the Supreme Being (God). Within the One Mind is contained all of the information (ideas), with which this Universe and everything in it are made. When an idea is upheld in consciousness, it gives rise to an energy potential and thus physicality. The physical does not really have the solidity we experience through our senses. It is far more akin to an idea. If you study modern physics you will see what I mean. There is a relationship that could be called Oneness between what we call mental and what we call physical.

The Supreme Being uphold the information, in the One Mind, by virtue of the Divine Consciousness. Thus all created forms are brought into being and sustained. In addition to that God created conscious beings, which may participate within the creation as co-creators. Thus the ideas, which we call forth from the One Mind, can and do affect our bodies. We can create mental prescriptions to affect our body both in restoring health (understanding the problem that needs to be solved) AND in creating ideal conditions for our body.

However where there is relationship, there is also mental entanglement. So related people can present ideas in the Mind to another related person AND they can perceive ideas presented to them. The Mind is a common platform through which we all participate and interact.

How a person reacts to ideas affects health. If they see them as bogus / merely someone else's suggestions, they can reject them and not react. If they mistake them for their own ideas, then they may react and unwittingly bring about adverse bodily reactivity, which over time may develop into disease. But ultimately it is each conscious being, who calls forth the ideas and thus affects or not the embodiment.
