I had read Mosher's letter before and am glad to see he is not alone.

They have really good points! Dealing with the psychiatric profession, especially in the United States, can be extremely frustrating.

The current environment of depression\mental health being purely biological has both good points and bad.

On the one hand, I think it lets some people get help when they wouldn't have otherwise. They think, See, I'm not weak, it's my brain, I can go get help. Of course, that hasn't stopped many, many insurance policies in the US from treating mental health as a completely separate thing and not paying for it.

On the other, as Dr. Alex Braiman says, psychiatrists stop looking for other reasons, or other treatments or lifestyle changes that might help.
