Need Your Help

Hello,

I have had panic attacks for 15 years. I have tried medication about 8
years ago and started with Zoloft which worked well for 2 years, then
it
just stopped working. My doctor has tried all the SSRI's and the older
medications for depression all in combination with Xanax with worse
results than my actual disorder. I am still taking Xanax 3mg daily
which
I have tapered down from 8mg per day. I am haunted constantly by scary
thoughts and cannot be left alone anymore.

I have purchased the older Attacking Anxiety Program in addition to the
new Attacking Anxiety Program and also I have gone through their
Personal Coaching Program thru the Midwest Center. I have also read
several Claire Weekes Books. My main problem is the avoidance cycle.
The
more I challenge myself to feel my body's reaction, the more scary
thoughts I imagine.

Do you have any recommendations for an inpatient clinic that does not
promote medication for complete recovery? I live in Southern
California.
I contacted the UCLA Program, but they discontinued the exposure and
therapy part of their program and now their program is about the
doctors
trying to find the right combination of medications for the patient. I
have already gone the medication route over the past 8 years and know
there must be a more effective treatment clinic.

This condition is ruining my life and my relationships. I am 41 years
old and just want a better quality of life. The avoidance of panic
disorder and depression almost seems too much to handle. I have so much
selft doubt that I will never get over this condition. I get so
depressed and scared and I feel so hopeless.

I would appreciate any information you can provide.

Sincerely,
Helen Keith
