Which Training/Courses. Decision making?

Postby cathB » Thu Mar 21, 2019 8:16 am

Hello There

I've been studying hypnosis for a while now and related subjects. I've finally got my act together and am putting my knowledge into practice.

However, there are a few Great courses coming up away from home and I'm not sure which one to go for? They are all great but, they are in USA/Canada So I need to book early for cheap flights etc....

Do I A) Just go for one in the Spring which will help my career at present
B) Fun conference which is slightly more intense as it spreads over 4 days.

Do I need Health insurance? Okay if you guys could think alongside with me and toss a few ideas my way to help me make a decision. That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.[/size]

Assuming the primary goal is to attend a conference to help your career, attend the conference that has:

-1- recognized credentialing.
-2- high profile, well known speakers/instructors.
-3- the best networking opportunities.
-4- the most attendees (unless it is some form of direct instruction, then the opposite holds true).

These are not necessarily rank order of importance. It is just criterion I would use to screen which one to attend.

For instance, in June I’m attending a small conference in San Francisco on a subfield of psychology. There will only be 100 or so attendees. But, some key players will be there that I need to connect with. This is in comparison to another conference I normally go to with nearly 15,000 in attendance. This year my decision is the small conference, because it is where I believe I can get the most out of the $$$ spent to attend.

Basically, go to the one where there are specific people you would like to meet. Reach out to them prior to the conference. Second, go for specific topics you want to learn. If one has better or more on ‘post-hypnotism’ methods and that is what floats your boat, then attend that conference.

Do you have links?

No. I do not have links/contacts. Do however have the website addresses though. :)
The main conference in the summer spread over 5 days or so has a pre conference with a trainer I am friends with but I am not qualified/meet the criteria to attend his lecture. so I think it might be a waste to go to that one just to meet one person.
On the other hand; The conference in the Spring they will also be speaking and doing a Pre conference Lecture in the Summer.

Once you've reached a certain level you might as well buy online courses. Not hotel or flight costs. But not recommended in the beginning.
Of course books are always a good source. Also, you might check local facbook / Meet Up Groups to learn.
