Re: Weakening into depression whenever my wife is away

It's a cheap explanation. I apreciate the time you took, and l understand there may not be anything else available to address the subject, but take into consideration that not a lot of people experience this simptoms l'm describing, including my wife, with wich l have a meaningful relationship and w...

Re: Weakening into depression whenever my wife is away

She loves me, yes, and misses me, but she doesn't experience this draining. I think it may be seen as a mental illness, and l doubt there's a name for it yet. It's so unnoticeable at first, but it grows steadily, like finger nails... You don't even feel sad, you just start noticing you are weaker, s...

Weakening into depression whenever my wife is away

It has happened to me every single time we need to split for whatever reason. She needs to travel and l cannot go, or l need to travel and she cannot come with me, it's all the same: at first l feel just fine, maybe even optimistic, but as days start passing l notice l have less energy, less wishes ...

Re: I hit my 3 years old son and I think it is okay

I managed to find some studies that proved I was wrong, and I changed my behavior. Also, it is true I knew in the bottom of my heart there was something wrong about this, and that's why I created this thread. Thanks, everyone.

Re: Intelligent Alien Civilizations

Yeap, well... if we take into consideration the age of the universe, then we place the age in which solar systems were properly formed and were sort of ready to allow life (as we understand it), then we throw an arbitrary number to consider the possibility of having the propper conditions, then we t...

Re: Mental illness = artistic talent?

I'm packing them all in those two words because I am dismissing them, for I consider mental illness to be unimportant when compared to the role of social aptitude to explain extraordinary examples of imagination and creativity such as Gabriel García Márquez or Pablo Picasso. The only thing I am taki...

Re: Mental illness = artistic talent?

Ackwarness calls for it. I am not stablising a relationship between introversion an imagination/creative talent, as I think that's pretty obvious. I am suggesting a relationship between mental illnesses and selft reclusion, which would lead to... you know... more dedication. The alternative would be...

Re: Mental illness = artistic talent?

Nobody hold anything against anyone. Look, let's put things into perspective: 1. Introverted vs extroverted: Introverted should have a richer inner world and more time to meditate = better artistic results. 2. Introverted personality doesn't equal isolation; abnormal behaviors, however, call for rej...

Re: Mental illness = artistic talent?

Wondergurl, I am a writer. I happen to be an introverted person and, in a few words, I am socially inadequated. Does that mean I am offending myself? The closest thing to an argument is your last paragraph. My answer would be that creativity and imagination are not suggested by anyone as exclusive o...

Re: Sometimes I Hurt My New Puppy, I Need Help!

You need to reinforce certain ideas. Here is a short list of instructions that could help you a big deal: 1. Watch videos of animals on youtube (friendly animals, noble pets, funny situations). 2. Read some articles on animal rights, compare them with human rights and do the same with cruelty. 3. Ra...

Re: The most important person ever

No, you did not debunk my argument. You attacked/questioned me, which is not a counter argument. I was not threatening you with a bann. I am not a mod or admin in this site. I was letting you know that I am running out of patience. Look, I want you to google "Dunning–Kruger Effect" and thi...

Re: The most important person ever

Dude... let me... mmm... (five minutes later)... you know what...? (deep breath and a little break)... Let me explain you a few things. This is an inflamatory thread that challenges people to debunk my argument of being the most important person ever. It is meant to generate emotional reactions and ...
