Re: Black dog has returned after nearly 12 months away - yet

Rich, I read your post and you have hit the bullseye. Everything you described is me and my situation to the smallest detail. Growing up I had health issues, and my mother was overprotective, not letting me go out with my friends unless it was in our garden or as far as the end of the street. At the...

Black dog has returned after nearly 12 months away - yet aga

Hello all Here I am again, it's been almost 12 months and the black dog is back. I possibly brought it upon myself by counting down the days until the milestone was reached (last came end of August last year) feeling a little edgy for a week or two until it hit on Saturday with a wake up call at 6am...

Re: Depression Learning Path

Sorry but I got the payment details from the "Natural Depression Treatment Program" not the learning path which is free. Apologies for this I guess that's what happens when your thoughts are all over the place.

Depression Learning Path

Hi I have recently been reading/listening to the free introduction to the Depression Learning Path on here and it has totally turned my knowledge of Depression on its head. Have I really been on anti depressants for 15 years for nothing? Probably not as my depression caused the chemical imbalance no...

Mid-Life Crisis/Depression

Hello Fellow Sufferers It has been a year since my last post as I am afraid I stopped coming here when I was feeling ok with myself and my life. Over the last 2 years I have been constantly thinking about my age and how I am now probably over halfway through my life, being 49 nearly 50. Barring a fe...

Re: My anxiety is back time to give up the caffiene?

Thanks Candid. Very interesting reading. I have started my detox today by reducing the cups of tea and only 1 can of coke as I went cold turkey before and that was not good. Irritable and headache for about 2 weeks :( I am changing my coke to the caffeine free diet version in my weekly shop tomorrow...

Re: I need help...

Isn't that the trick depression plays on you? You know how you should feel but the black dog wants you to only think of it. I am in a similar place only I am in a happy relationship and not alone. My black dog won't let me see it and as soon as a snippet of a happy thought appears he pounces and dra...

Depression and hypnosis

Hi all It has been probably over a year since my last post (I had to re-activate my account tonight ) but I was wondering if anyone has had success being treated with hypnosis? My darkness has decided to creep up on me again (or my old friend as I call it) and I was thinking of going down this route...

Venlafaxine Prolonged Release Tablets

:x Hey there I have a quick question for you. I have been on 225mg Venlafaxine Prolonged release tablets for 4 weeks after being on 150mg of ordinary venlafaxine for a number of years. The change was due to my depression returning and my GP decided to try these meds to see if they would help. Well m...

[/quote]This sounds ridiculous but does anyone know the feeling where you spend most of your waking life feeling like you are just about to cry!? but never actually do. Yes I do. Tonight I left a stressful first day back at work where loads had built up over the last 2 weeks, and started to cry. I m...

Hi Ems I have suffered since I was 16 (am now 43). My GP diagnosed Endogenous Depression which has no external trigger but rather internal as in chemical imbalance due to unkown factors in my case. I have suffered episodes every year since 1984 (except for 1985) and I was only put on AD's in 2002 an...
