Re: My quit Journal

Well, 2 years. That magic number. Where am I at? I'm fine. I'm me again, well, I'm a new me. Everything I identified as my PAWS symptoms are gone. My mind and body have adapted to a life free of weed, and I don't miss it. I don't dwell on my recovery, being sober is just a natural extension of who I...

Re: Help with paws

I haven't seen a doctor or therapist as don’t really want to be put on meds They can't make you go on meds. If you don't want to be on meds, and advocate for that, you won't go on meds. But what if you're having a thyroid condition, completely unrelated to your marijuana use? Getting some bloodwork...

Re: Help with paws

Really struggling with what I think is paws but more worried I actually have a mental illness. Have you talked to a psychiatrist/therapist/doctor about your concerns? If you haven't I would seek out one of those who specializes in addictive medicine. You'll most likely find, that after talking with...

Re: 1 year and a couple months clean.

Exstoner, wow....just wow. Thank you so much for posting this and offering such hope to all who need it. We need more people like you coming back to post recovery. And thanks to you @Ade for all you have contributed. I am coming up at 15 months and finally down to two last pesky symptoms. It's good...

Re: 1 year and a couple months clean.

The last year was an entirely new level of anxiety I'd never experienced before, but I am doing good now, thanks!

Could have been, I went on them well into my cannabis abuse. Chicken or the egg thing there. But I went on them mainly for anxiety.

Re: 1 year and a couple months clean.

Am still taking an AD, but I'm completely off of Lexapro. Have gone down in dosage on new AD, not sure when or if I'll be weaning off of it completely, but have been discussing it with my prescribing doctor.

Was on Lexapro for about 10 years before I even quit MJ.

Re: 1 year and a couple months clean.

Never got on the wellbutrin, actually. Was prescribed it but couldn't bring myself to take it. Went off Lexapro for another AD, don't really want to say which one as I don't want people to consider going on it because I was on it and got through. AD's may have helped me (at least didn't set me back)...

Re: 1 year and a couple months clean.

@Upfull I did have some pretty bad cognitive issues early on. Fortunately, those cleared up for the most part within the 4-8 month range. A lot of the issues came from the anxiety and just not being able to focus, but there was definitely some defects in my ability to retain information or just thin...

Re: Does a contact high affect PAWS and brain chemistry?

To be honest, no one can really say. No one here is a brain scientist, and hell even brain scientists can't say how things do or don't affect brain chemistry in subtle ways. I wouldn't worry about it, there's been a few people here who full on relapsed during their paws, and maybe had a bit of a set...

Re: My Quit Journal

Welcome! Keeping a journal of this does really help. I can look back at some of my own stuff and really appreciate how far I've come. It's a slow, painful, journey but worth it when you don't feel like crap all the time. Keep journaling, let time do its thing, and you'll be through it.
