Re: Relationship between Psyche & Dream

Dreams can represent anxiety or fears we have - they may also represent things we are burying and ignoring that is happening in our lives. Other times they are merely us processing what has been happening to us that day. Freud suggested our dreams had meaning but generally this hasnt been found to h...

Re: Gender Dysphoria

Did your friend ever get back to you on this? I found some good gender dysphoria explanations here that may be of interest. It explains psychological explanations as well as biological causes for the disorder which is similar to what I mentioned in my previous post about hormones.

Re: Am I depressed?

I'm not convinced it's depression perse as usually it involves a severe lack of motivation, inability to work and often social exclusion in some form (from my experience) neither of which you appear to fully hit. It sounds like you're just unhappy and the reason for that is as Richard above says : y...

Re: Scared of losing my family

It might be wise to try find some time for yourself away from everything. Just to give an example, some people go to the gym as a good escape - the exercise improved their feelings about themself and well-being and its something that allows them to escape for a short period to have their own space. ...

Re: I enjoy hurting my cat

Thank you all for showing me this site has no credibility and is a colossal waste of time. The forum isn't a forum of mind readers or where we play a game of 20 questions to try and figure out your cause; The fact that you say you're a psych major and have an idea of what's causing you to be a comp...

Re: Helplessness

I've suffered the same but learn't a lot of my own anxiety stems from expectations I place on myself and the world around me - when these expectations are not met or I face a hurdle that blocks these goals/expectations that when the anxiety tends to get worse. For many people it may even be stress r...

Re: Problem of person write holy name n times at office?

1) Impossible to know for certain; potentially he is someone that has an external locus of control that rather than accept he has control over his life, he puts it into the hands of god to help him with what he needs. This is why he probably blames other people for his failings - but again you cant ...

Re: Being good enough for yourself

These sound like the problems emanating from low self-esteem more than anything. Improve your sense of self-worth and you will find you are less critical of yourself overall. Learning to love yourself is one of the hardest things to do.

Re: Why did I cheat on the perfect husband?

I have been married for 4 years with a man I love dearly, but I cheated on him for about 1/2 a year with a former co-worker. I only did it for the attention so I changed jobs. I love my husband and now I cannot stop thinking about what I did to him. We lost our home due to a fire and are living wit...

Re: How to judge a people?

I'm assuming the psychic in question realised he was a sceptic and probably played to his ego to counter this. A sceptic is likely to stand in a group thinking they know better than the group I imagine.

Re: Did anxiety end our relationship? Pls read, fairly serio

I wouldn't concern yourself with her inheriting anything as psychological factors play a strong role too and how they are nurtured. Just to orive this point, not all identical twins with the exact same genes develop disorders such as schizophrenia - this suggests how they are reared has a massive in...

Re: Living your parents' dreams

You can still train in other jobs at any point in life. If you are a teacher and earning your own money, if you are unhappy then save up go retrain in something else. The point is currently you have no clear idea what you want to do and parents don't want their children to sit idly until they realis...

Re: People pushing you in a way you can't refuse it

What your in essence talking about is being "passive". It's a common trait that people can fall into being but it poses a lot of problems some of which you highlighted; It's not really the fact that you cant refuse, its just your internal diaglog in your head is making it hard to refuse as...
