I'll try to answer... 1) If you truly stop smoking weed, it will end up being a litmus test for the friends that you have... the real friends will stick around and be cool with the choices you have made. the pot friends will fade away. 2) Exercise and getting into hobbies / keeping yourself busy is ...
Its two weeks today and I am so happy but bored. I am wondering why did I stop smoking if there is nothing else to do anyway. eh... I just noticed this part of your post and wanted to say that the "bored" line of thinking led me back to regular usage. I convinced myself that nothing was r...
Thanks for sharing your story supermami. It really gives me inspiration to try quitting again when I read stories like this. Take care and stay strong. You are a great Mom!
Thanks for sharing your story. It really means a lot! Keep going strong, soon the days will become weeks and the weeks months. It is a fantastic journey to being sober. It won't be rough for you for too much longer. I fell off the wagon a while back, but I'm back on the site doing some reading and t...
I can relate to what you are going through to a lesser extent, having smoked with my Dad several times throughout the years. A couple of times were really awkward, with my wife around who does not puff and me and my Dad getting high in front of her. I've said it before, but in my opinion if it is ar...
not sure what else to say right now... all I know at this point is that it's good that I'm back here. I knew help and kind words would be here waiting... thus my reluctance to return...
Wow it's been a while since I updated this thread! I eagerly await your next update. :) My only update is that I relapsed a few months ago. I'm back on autopilot, not really caring about anything. I'll try to quit again, not sure when though. My wife doesn't know so I keep everything on the hush-hu...
You have to hit rock bottom before you realize that you NEED to change. It happened to me a bunch of times. You just forget about it and don't realize it until you are there again. The dependency takes control and before you know it, you are buying more, smoking up again and the high feels like CRAP...
Well I just wanted to say thanks for joining. Listen - life IS enjoyable without pot. You have to go a few weeks without it - in fact, go as long as you can. Once you have been off it for a while, you will find that you can enjoy life much more without it. I started out pretty strong when I first jo...
I suck at weening... I just had to prove to myself that I could go a while without weed at the start. I didn't make it 6 weeks... I think I got baked with a buddy just short of 6 weeks. One thing I know is that "weening" will just keep you toking. Going cold turkey is the only way to go. G...
I experimented with coke about 8-9 years ago. Due to the crowd I was hanging around with and the fact that we were always trying different drugs, it just seemed to be around and it was (at the time) what seemed like a logical progression. Honestly, I was so lost back then I think I might have tried ...
Hi fresh. You are in the right frame of mind. At least you are trying to quit. Most of my friends from that old group I don't hear from too much. Maybe once every month or two one of them have called. It just goes to show me that once I gave that up, I became a heck of a lot less interesting to them...
