Re: Realisation- finally

Thanks mate! No I don’t think I had same sort of sleep issue previously. Will cut down my caffeine intake as well I think. The sleep is weird, I go off no problem but wake up in a dreamy / feel tired but not completely asleep / can’t drift off. Will just have to adapt and get on with it and hope it ...

Re: Realisation- finally

Anyone else feel super sensitive to caffeine once they have quit? I’m nearly at two months now and probably for last 14 - 21 days have been sleeping badly. No problems getting to sleep just wake up and am in a dream state but can’t get back to sleep? Today I’ve just had one coffee and thinking I may...

Re: Quitting after 20 years

Welcome back mate! Could relate so much to what you posted, I teased myself for ages about alternatives to smoking (edibles / vaping) as it was ‘healthier’ and was a way out from that constant need but each and every time I just slipped back into smoking spliffs. It’s crazy what we can convince ours...

Re: Realisation- finally

Hi - does anyone have any tips for sleep issues?? Everything else is fine, am happy with how things are but I’m struggling with sleep. Basically what happens is that I have no problem in getting to sleep but seems that I have dreams where I think I’m awake but I’m not actually asleep? Just end up to...

Re: Quit date 15/1/22(17:28) journal

Nice one mate! Weekends I find tough as like you was smoking from first thing in the morning to last thing at night! I’m now into my fifth weekend ‘clean’ and I like it! Previously would be tired, eating poorly, not concentrating on family stuff and just waiting for the next spliff. Quite a chore re...

Re: Realisation- finally

Am pleased to pass the month clean mark!

Always got paranoid and beat myself up about being busted at work or when driving but guess by now my system is clean and in theory would pass a drug test?

Re: Realisation- finally

Hope everyone is doing well. Nearly a month now and despite having sleeping issues the last week I’m feeling better. Played golf yesterday and was so much more consistent and lot of the lads commented on how my eyes looked clearer, my teeth cleaner and skin not haggard! Pleased to hear that, I’ve al...

Re: Quit date 15/1/22(17:28) journal

Don’t sweat on it or beat yourself up mate. These habits we form over years and are tough to overcome. Re: Realisation- finally

Have had few restless nights sleep, heavy sweats and vivid dreams. Seems like I sleep heavily, wake up then light sleep till the alarm goes off. Last night I started a 10 week fitness programme (Caroline givan on YouTube) and had hot bath after and left the windows of room wide open and didn’t sweat...

Re: Realisation- finally

Been very up and down this week. Been lethargic, depressed, irritable and sleep not been nice - vivid dreams and slight sweats. I’m putting this down to the fact I am now also quitting nicotine. I stoped smoking spliffs on Xmas day (present to myself!) and got a nicotine vape pen (which I found toug...

Re: Quit date 15/1/22(17:28) journal

Best of luck on your quit mate! This is a great place to share your story. I’ve smoked for similar amount of time and over the past 9 years have managed periods of abstinence but never stuck it out. Completely understand that it’s become all consuming, it’s a hard process to get through but many peo...
