Re: Cognitive Impairments

Perhaps weed made you both more relaxed around people, which enabled you to make humour more easily. I've met people who thought they were hugely entertaining when high on cocaine but they weren't really. They were just high and full of themselves... they complained of lack of confidence when they ...

Re: Cognitive Impairments

2 years and 4 months in and my extremely quick wit has just recently began to rear it's head but only slightly. Nothing of how I previously was with being able to leave a room in laughter and respond to quick banter. Real shame really. I don't know your backstory but I started smoking at 16 and con...

Re: What is happening to me?

Hi there Indeed there have been about 4-5 occasions where I took a toke of a friend's joint. I'm not trying to defend it but it was always between 1-3 tokes. Anyways for the first 6 months of my quit I was completely clean. Brain healing is a process, I doubt a few tokes would have set me back a lon...

Re: 13 months PAWS update

Hey man just do you know, I totally get the lack of emotion thing. It's like the main thing holding me back. I too feel like I'm damaged for life and will not heal like the other people who recover on this forum. I also started smoking at a very young age as well. Have you noticed that when people t...

Re: 11 months weed free! In need of hope :(

Exact same situation dude Social anxiety Inability to experiance emotions Minor 'constantly low' depression I don't think this is paws. I think it's closely related to structural and subsequently functional changes in our brain which developed as a result of smoking heavily while the brain was still...

Re: 12 Months.... What a disappointment

I feel ya man I've gone about 13 months barring two slip ups The social anxiety bothers me the least.it used to be moderate and would negatively affect me all the time, but now it only bothers me occasionally. The lack of emotion is the real killer because it affects every aspect of life from social...

Re: Is this depression / what should I do?

I also feel emotionally numb and unable to form emotional connections with other humans. It is also difficult for me to derive pleasure from 'enjoyable' activities. This happened to me after smoking weed everyday for years.

Re: Mental problem

I too have friends but I only enjoy maybe 10% of socialising. Sometimes I do genuinely laugh, but very rarely. So for you, do you think it's got worse over the last 3 years? Have you seen any increase in emotional capacity or expression or being spontaneous? Any increase in social skills? Any increa...

Re: Mental problem

Yeah my emotional intelligence was significantly affected in a negative manner compared to my academic intelligence... Even while I was smoking weed I still scored high on exams and got top marks at university then did a masters degree and got good marks again. Now I work a demanding and stressful j...
