14 years later...anxiety update.

Just thought I’d pop by to say hi! I used to have terrible anxiety, couldn't go out, continual shakes, couldn’t sleep, eat or anything really. My stomach churned excessively and I was forever in the loo with upset tummy. So, racing forward to today...I’ve been on a trip to visit my family, we were s...

10 years later...

So ten years ago I had trouble getting in the shower let alone travelling anywhere or doing anything. I was in constant pain, didn't sleep or slept all day, shook, lost weight then gained weight, cried a lot and spent most of my life scared stiff of just about everything. I just thought I'd leave a ...

Re: What to do? I've been bullyed at work for 2 - 3 years.

Have you had a chat with John? "John, I've noticed you've been considerably more aggressive than usual, is there a problem"? So, you told John he's aggressive, now see what he comes back with. Follow it up by saying that it's not appropriate behaviour at work. Also ask him what he can do t...

Negativity

What makes a person negative all the time? You know, the never ending pessimist who thinks everything always goes wrong, never sees good in people or stuff. Risk adverse. Always blame others for there boredom or problems? I'm sick of a close relative who can never say anything good to my face, it's ...

3 weeks in , Can't say I've noticed much difference yet.

Re: Started on meds-painful

Yes, I chose to marry, have children , work, join clubs etc etc. perhaps I should leave everyone to fend for themselves and join a convent in South America and live on rice?

Re: please read, I need advice

Just to add, once you've explored a situation such as "I hate being late" and found it was because you were always taught to arrive early, you then have to remember that you now have a choice what time to arrive. I know it sounds silly but a friend of mine was all stressed about Xmas last ...

Re: Anxious about son travelling

Sounds like a completely normal reaction to your son going! I'd be exactly the same. Our young boys don't see how much it hurts to wave goodbye, even if they are only going away for a month. As the others have said, this is probably also the cumulative effect of all the other stuff going on. Keep th...

Re: How can I stop having the same old reaction?

Learn to catch the first thought as soon as it happens so it doesn't 'grow' into a whole inner debate about how you will leave him etc.

The key here is to use your relaxation techniques and re position your body the moment you feel your head going in the wrong direction.

Re: Started on meds-painful

Julia, Every so often someone comes onto this site with a similar thread of thought to yours. We all read your ideas, sigh at the fact that your opinion of our disabilities are so easy to fix and then, we all move on to find some advice that actually works for us. And just incase you were interested...

Caffeine and anxiety

Did a stupid thing today. Had a regular cup of coffee with caffeine at lunch time. I'm still paying for it 5 hours later!

Shaky, feel sick, all fizzy inside.

Really, caffeine is not good for your mental stability, don't eat or drink anything with caffeine. Sugar is bad too!
