Re: difficult person to hypnotize

Well, I definitely do have ADHD,.and I would definitely be willing to give it a try. I'm not a psychologist, but what I can tell you about attention deficit is that the normal filters most people have to screen out non-essential information (do I REALLY need to be aware of the car passing by outside...

Re: difficult person to hypnotize

It's ok, Moonlight, we've all had so much going on lately. Reply as you are able and so inclined. I'm just happy you have given of your time and attention to help me work through this. Thank you for that. Yes, I am familiar with that induction. I believe I've read a few articles about it. I have to ...

Re: difficult person to hypnotize

Kanza,

Have you ruled out all physiological problems first (apnea comes to mind). I was just recently diagnosed, and a CPAP machine is clearing up a lot of my problems. I would look into that before trying hypnosis or cognitive therapies.

Re: difficult person to hypnotize

Hi Kanza

Have you found anything that works well yet? If you have, could you pass that along to me as well? I am having the same problem as your husband (both sleep and hypnosis).

I'd be very appreciative of any advice you can offer.

Oh, and good luck with your situation as well.

Re: Spiral or Spoof?

I walked right into that one, didn't I? What I was actually meaning was, am I supposed to have any conscious thought about the spiral itself? At times, depending on the design of the spiral, I get the visual illusion of traveling toward the center, sometimes emerging from it, sometimes it splits int...

Right Brain/Left Brain

Is there such a thing as a condition in which the two hemispheres of the brain have limited or diminished cross communication? If so, what would characterize such a condition?

Spiral or Spoof?

With the understanding that different people respond to different methods, is there anything to the use of spirals in an induction, or is it just Hollywood tripe?

Assuming the former, what does the subject do with them? Passive observation, or something more interactive?

Re: The "Fake it" Factor

Yes, I did find that interesting. I'll be honest, I didn't completely follow all of it, but it did get me thinking.

Thank you for the link and the insights.

Making Stage Fright Work For You

One question that is heard a lot is how to get rid of stage fright. Having had experience with both theatrical productions and public speaking in general, I would ask in return, why would you want to? A better question to ask is how to master stage fright. Stage fright can actually be an asset when ...

Re: Packin' It In

A few more years for me, I think. Then picking up on the guitar again, maybe even going to lutherie school. Or maybe taking up with a community theater group.

And yourself?

Packin' It In

For those of us getting close to retirement age: the numbers will tell when one is financially ready to retire...how does one assess when they are emotionally ready? Has this been discussed here?

Re: Un-hypnotizable?

Really, Candid? Freud, now? But to answer your question, she doesn't. Note to Candid and Richard: This has all been very interesting, but we are quite honestly at an impasse. Reply to this if you wish, but I am of the thought that my answers, if there are any to be had, lie elsewhere. Peace to you b...
