Hey, TheWorldShakes.

Don't you think acid makes panic attacks worse? Do you still do acid?

Hello and welcome. It may be the medication or it may be your anxiety. I didn't take the med you are on, but I had a similar experience with getting some help and relief from medication (Klonopin and Xanax in my case) only to find over time that my anxiety returned and I would have a really hard tim...

pez, It is anxiety. You don't need a blood test, go see a doctor and tell him or her what you said here. If you keep avoiding all the things you want to do and drinking all the time, you'll end up in a bad way. It happened to me. Get the help you need and then get on with your life. You can do it!

I have fasted probably twice or three times a year for many years. I only fast for 24 hours though, and I do not have low blood sugar.
It does feel really good, but I can't say I noticed any correlation between that and panic attacks.
Interesting though..

20 years ago when I was in college, I told one of my professors (she was a professor of psychiatric nursing no less) about my panic disorder and she said how brave I was. Later when I was applying for a position at the hospital I asked her if I should divulge to the interviewer about my panic attack...

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the support. I will get through it, just hate that I have to squirm about it for days in advance :S

Because I have panic disorder and SAD, going to event like this trigger anticipatory anxiety in me.

I have to go because I spent a lifetime avoiding trigger situations such as this shower, and I am not willing to live my life that way anymore.

Posting is slow, although maybe it's because I'm in the US? Also, why can't I fill in a signature? I looked over the FAQ and didn't see a reason. Thanks

Really dreading this event

Hi, I have to go to a bridal shower this weekend and I really don't want to. The people having the shower are only polite acquaintances and there will be at least 3 people there who I know don't like me. My social anxiety is kicking in really bad and I feel like making a lame excuse. I also know if ...

Hi Iceman, Compassion is key and I'm sorry you had those experiences. I always thought I would be ridiculed and shamed because of my panic and anxiety, but I found that when I opened up to people, they were usually very nice and concerned for me. Of course only open myself up very close friends and ...
