Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Been a while.
Forgot how I always lose a long post when I get logged out while typing it.

Sigh.

Re: I know I need to quit weed...support needed

This isn't going to be what you WANT to hear. But this is what worked for me I hope it helps you. 1) I gave up tobacco, and vaped weed instead. Tobacco withdrawal lasted about 3 months and then no bad issues with that ever again. 2) I grew my own weed. No selling to anyone else, just grew loads and ...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Just checking in - still doing fine :) I think there are 3 bits of quitter’s wisdom I want to repeat, again: 1. You know when you’ve had your last spliff 2. Your reasons for using a drug become your reasons for quitting it 3. Runner’s high is my best way of fighting off THC withdrawal My life’s been...

Re: Hey quitters, how do you get inspired now?

The creativity that weed channels is available without weed, but it takes work and practice. I keep a pad and pencil by my bed and make strange notes and sketches of ideas and solutions from the semi-conscious moments when it all flows. I find I can’t force myself to remember this stuff, I have to j...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Still clean, close to 14 months, happy to have survived the xmas/NY time without any temptation... Just watched a film again (that I watched years ago, while bombed out of my mind). Source Code, about a soldier held in a sort of coma after a helicopter crash, forced to time travel to solve a crime. ...

Re: Soap bar "hash"

Nah, you're worrying about silly things. Firstly, why would someone bother to contaminate hash with something unusually harmful? If they're gonna make the weight up with something, they'd use something cheap and easily available. The main contaminant I recognise from all the poor quality hash I smok...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Thanks, yes I am proud of how I’ve smashed my weed consumption for the last 4 years, and learned to live better. Not been noticing improvement for a while and been worrying about other things. I’ve been struggling with reduced sleep due to the baby, which feels similar to weed damage - Knackered, me...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Still on the wagon. 11 months. Obviously i’m pleased with this; I feel I’m in control and I like myself a lot more than when I was chronic. But I’m definitely ‘on the wagon’, rather than ‘cured’. Funny to say it like that but it has been a repeated, conscious decision to stay off weed sometimes. Som...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Hi, ...Did you find it hard to sleep at night? Relax in the evening? D Hi, yeh, it was hard for about 6-8 weeks when I first quit. But the thing is, it was bad ON the weed as well. I'd got to the point where my weed tolerance was scary, I was in a constant state of withdrawal even with a crazy inta...

Re: 1 year today

Good stuff.

I think prozac does cause issues with wakefulness from what my friend said about it.
But weed definitely does, and I reckon it's one of the last symptoms to stop.

Re: Pot smokers video

What a shower of bellends.

The comments on youtube pretty much cover it.

"People say smoking causes cancer but this video gave me cancer" is my fave.

Re: Detox From Weed - Started as Early Teen - Life Questions

You're doing well, just need to keep going at being sober. All that turbulence and worry about life's big questions will settle down with time. I found after a while of hard, cold, scary self-rejection I was able to reclaim stuff back from the 'box' of stoned life I'd rejected. Think of it this way ...

Re: Long term weed habit - getting control or quit

Been having some cravings recently Hot sunny days and physical work can bring a sense of 'deserving it', celebration of achievement is a trigger for my old habit I know beyond any doubt that getting stoned would be disappointing AND bring the cravings back worse tomorrow I know I've beaten my way th...

Re: 24 years using, 4 months weed free my story

Hey Furtive, ... It's like I was so obsessed with weed that it's only when I had so much of it that I literally couldn't smoke it all that it lost it's preciousness and became what it truly is just some green plant material like lettuce or basil. EXACTLY. EXACTLY. EXACTLY how I came to face up to w...

Re: 36 years, my story and my struggle

Just want to say that everything that happens in the first 3-4 months of a quit is likely to be unreal. Whether it's euphoria at managing to stay off weed for a few weeks or absolute misery and rage about internal/external factors quitting requires you to step back and endure persist and you WILL fe...
