Re: What do you foreigners think about Obama?

Personally, I was surprised when the same # of people (if not more) started moaning and whining and complaining about Obama as Bush. But I guess people will always complain. Personally I'm quite satisfied with his definitive action regarding many issues - for instance allowing stem cell research ag...

You will find that most mood disorders run in families by genetic disposition. Sorry to rake this one up from so long ago but if that were true there would be someone either in my family or my husbands family who had/has depression. There is nobody else who has ever had depression in either familie...

I wish your son get better soon, I would like to help but I'm too busy with my problems. About my mom, She is in control of my dad, maybe altering her chemistry this may be lessened. Just a hope.. My son is doing great, don't worry about helping, that's not what I wanted. We're fine thanks. I was j...

no, Its a pleasure to read your thoughts. By the way my mother is worried sometimes too ı think of advising her iron supplements as she is a heavy tea consumer also. I don't know she'll take my advise though. That's ok then, I didn't want you to think I was being a 'know it all' because I don't kn...

I'm no expert, but evidence does suggest that EPA works better on depression without DHA. I'm sure you've looked into it though, so I'll keep my nose out! lol

I am 18 and am depressed and i have not been going to school for the past 3 months and have therefore failed all my classes. Also, I am on probation and if I fail it means I get kicked out. Hi worried_mother, I have a really great doctor, who is knowledgable about recent research into anti-depressants effectiveness. When I started my own course of anti-depressants, he told me that the latest research suggested that for the best results it was recommended to maintain the course of anti...

Hi worried_mother, There is a natural alternative to pharmaceutical anti-depressants - Saint John's Wort, which you might want to look into as an alternative. It has been shown (by proper independant scientific research) to be about as effective as pharmaceutical anti-depressants, and many people f...

Hi Worried_Mother, re diet modification, did you look into food intolerances like gluten/wheat? Also simple carbohydrates like white bread or pasta can cause low blood sugar (which I have and it's awful). I'm sounding a bit like Jurplesman here but please check his posts. Sometimes depression is no...

Hi, is your son an active person? Like does he do sports or any physical exercise? Taking anti-depressants is not always the answer to fix the problem. I am coming off a programme of anti-depressants which are classed in the same category, SSRI, as your son's. You can't expect your son to be bright...

Remember that drugs are not a universal "fix" - they are just a substance which may or may not address the problem. Even people who are happy and not on anti depressants have bad days, so why should it be any different if someone is happy due to taking anti depressants? Make sure you have...
