Re-entering the world

Hi all, I have been thinking these past few days that I really want to stop giving into my social anxiety. I am receiving CBT for it at the moment and it has bought up a whole load of thoughts and feelings! Nevertheless, I am starting to feel motivated to become more outgoing as I feel that I have l...

Re: Problems with my partners family

First things first I do not want to disclose any personal details but I have been with my bf for almost a decade. Well to answer your question, they interpreted me as being rude because I am not exactly a confident person and I am apprehensive in social situations so perhaps I was holding back speak...

Problems with my partners family

I have long had issues with my boyfriends family. They are very difficult people and I have always tried my best to my ability to get along with them. I am a very shy person and at the start of the relationship they assumed that I was being rude ect. It really upset me to hear this and when they sta...

Neurotic parents

How on earth do you deal with neurotic parents? I am back living with my mother and I seriously don't know what is wrong with her behaviour. I emptied the dishwasher for her after she asked me to and I said to her 'I've done this now'. She then said, 'oh its mainly you that uses it' (not true, she i...

Re: Rebuilding self-esteem

Start off slow and build up. You cannot go from 0 to 100 in a day. Self-confidence is a deep seated belief. It a simple thing to achieve, but it doesn't mean it's easy. Start off with one area you want to improve. Focus on that and put the rest on a shelf. What's the most important area in your lif...

Conscious pain

Is it a good thing if you consciously feel pain that is caused by past hurt and upset? I feel as though a lot of upset has been buried in my unconscious mind and it is now only coming to the surface after 'suffering' for years. But now i'm wondering, why am I experiencing the pain so intensely now b...

Rebuilding self-esteem

Ok so I suffer from very low self-esteem and I definitely think this can be attributed to my early experiences. However, even though I realise this I am struggling to rebuild it and I still have horrible thoughts and act out on them in a way quite frequently. It seems to be affecting everything that...

Re: Does he still love me?

Maybe cute is what he finds to be most desirable thing, perhaps your perception of the matter in that you think cute is somehow lesser than being beautiful/amazing is skewed? It is only a problem if he sees you as being anything other than the most desirable in his eyes and if that is the case you s...

Children.......

I have a bit of a problem....my partner wants children in the future but I don't. I have been with him for over five years so we are quite attached. It's not that I don't like children because I really do I just don't want to have any of my own due to personal reasons. He is basically my best friend...

Expressing dislike without it being defined as jealousy

Why is it that if you express your dislike of someone or someones life choices it is sometimes defined as being jealous?

This isn't necessarily true but it seems that people come to this conclusion sometimes.......why would someone do this?

Re: Feeling angry....

I confronted the person who told me that 'I was in the wrong' (sorry for being vague)

They are adamant that I am so I don't know what to do to be honest all I want is for people to know that I am not

Feeling angry....

Ok so I didn't know where exactly to post this but as I am feeling very angry right now I feel this is the most appropriate place Right so basically if someone is nasty to you for no apparent reason and have done nothing to upset them and are made out to be the one in the wrong how would you feel? Y...
