Has anybody heard anything about the training?

i have received my first self hypnosis audio lesson by Roger Elliott. in the instruction it was told that there are two ways to relax : recalling past relaxation experience or by by talking in a relaxing, soothing way. i wonder can i combine those two topics and should i talk in first person? thanks...
