Re: Should I give Tinder one more shot?

Well said Richard. Also, I'd add that on Tinder you will find more of what you don't want quick hook up culture, where boys are interested more of what they can get from you than you as a person. Solution is, of course, to get your social life together again, to see how you can create strong and las...

Re: Nerds, Stereotypes, Math, Science, Video Games, and Fant

I believe that there is an extra dimension to "nerd" you are overlooking and it is related to some basic social skills or awareness that these exist, due to preoccupation with gaming and the scientific arts or possibly just escape from this fact that they are not "cool" or know h...

Re: Atarax for anxiety?

Pain, suffering, anxiety created by worldy events, in the above metaphor they are all synonyms.

Re: Atarax for anxiety?

I once heard of a saying that states that the more strong the pain, the more universal it is. By that logic, if something does not cause you much pain then it is probably not biologically / psychologically programmed into your brain. On the positive side, the more universal the problem, the more lik...

Re: Trouble at work

As for your question, I saw you made many posts for it in the forum (hence maybe the 40k posts) on a similar issue. I guess, whats done is done. Now you have to deal with the consequences and make amends if necessary. Make a plan and execute it. If you need to work overnight to resolve your problems...

Re: Trouble at work

What I don't understand is how with over 40k posts you are still having these questions and problems. Don't get me wrong, it is genuine confusion. Are you a psychologist by profession / education or just a well-intended contributor?

Re: Performance anxiety?

Failure of rejection is deeply programmed into our psychology, because for hundreds of thousands of years our ancestors use to travel the earth in small packs of people. Rejection at that stage meant death. Today, it is a normal business and social practice. It is therefore not surprising that some ...

Re: Addicted to a video

Yes, the internet will do it to you. I'd say that if it really bothers you, start reporting the links or mask them as uninteresting in your feed. On this topic, I once got a tattoo, and immediately after started to get ads for tattoo shops and tattoo removing shops, which got me quite angry, because...

Re: Ann

Sorry to hear about your home situation. It is indeed toxic and it is unfortunate that you have a parent who is less than benevolent. One thing you must remember that your mom has problems (psychological or otherwise) and she is lashing out on you. In this way, you are not at fault and while it may ...

Re: 7 weeks weed withdrawal!

Hi Hayhay123, personally, I don't have a similar weed-related experience, so while I can't relate, I saw many posts on this forum on the same topic. I know you already read some of them, but I recommend reading even more. After all, many answers to your questions were already given there. Also, pers...
