Are so few people doing stage shows these days? Is Anthony the only one doing shows still? It seems hypnotic stageshows are either not as popular as they were, or are just not advertised very well. Maybe everyone thinks it's all like the little britain character. Surely someone somewhere must know o...

Stage Hypnotism shows / links?

Hello All,

Does anyone know of any websites which show a list of upcoming stage hypnotism shows in the UK? I've had a look around, but cant find anything useful.

If anyone on the forum is running stage shows, how about a little self advertising, it would be fun to watch you work. :)

From what I've read on hypnotherapy, everything you've said can be easily and quickly helped. To the best of my knowledge, there is no 'easy' way to find a good hypnotherapist, but maybe someone on here will know how to, or can recommend one near to where you are. Good luck, and dont worry, with hyp...

There are two things I'd suggest. First, from what I've read, it's better to count down for induction / deepener, and up for awaken, to 10 to 1 for trance, 1 to (whatever number you feel is right, I go with 5), for awake. I like to add some speech during the 'stairs' like '8, you're going deeper, fe...

I watched part of one episode, but did not get through to the end, for that very reason. It felt to me she was using hypnosis to act like a psychologist/therapist. It seemed to me she had decided what the problem was, and how they should deal with it, and then proceeded to tell them, rather than hav...

Hypnotising someone with alzheimer's

Hello, I have a friend who asked if it is possible to hypnotise someone with alzheimer's. She works for the alzheimer's association, and was curious as to any benefits the people she works with, could / would, receive from hypnosis. Does anyone know if it is possible, and how would it be best to go ...

I found when I first started, I would get a sore throat, simply through talking so much. My wife said she's never heard me talk so much since I started.

I found the emotional boost I got, when I saw people improve or get over their condition was worth the sore throat.

Looking in the 'Handbook of Hypnotic Suggestions and Metaphors', there are several ways to stop nail biting. One is simply a suggestion that you do not wish to bite your nails, that each time you do not bite your nails, you will want to less and less, etc. Erickson suggests you grow one nail long, a...

So far I've only hypnotised Family and Friends. They are the only one's who trust me I think. ;) So far hypnotism is not something I do as a job, so I dont have time to take it any further than a hobby. I also do not have the full training to take it much further. One day I'll sign up for a course n...

Over use of hypnotism

I have a rhetorical question. Is there ever a case (not morally, more emotionally, psychologically) of over-use of hypnosis? Can too much hypnosis be a bad thing, or do any form of emotional damage, even on a basis of people using / seeing it, as a crutch? The reason I ask this, is I was talking to ...

From what I understand of making suggestions 'permenant', is pretty much down to how good you are at words. If you say 'yeah, you dont smoke now', and leave it at that, you'll pretty much have poor results, where as if you put the point across in a way they can associate with, in words they understa...

Hi, not sure if you're still eager for the answer on amnesia now, but from Ormond McGill's book 'The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism', he says: A: Amnesia following hypnosis varies greatly with the subject B: There is probably never total posthypnotic amnesia C: The extent of posthypnotic amnesi...
