What happens during the Elman induction? Are you able to achieve number amnesia? As for instant inductions, I'm a fan of the hand-drop induction. Cal Banyan has the script down to eight words: http://www.hypnosiscenter.com/free-article-the-eight-word-hypnotic-induction.htm As for work, I just mean t...

Re: I blackout but suggestions don't take effect

Blacking out isn't necessarily a sign of hypnosis. If you blacked out, it's more likely that you had actually fallen asleep--which explains why the suggestions didn't take effect. Although the root of the word "somnambulism" suggests sleepwalking, the hypnotic state isn't like that at all ...

A lot of hypnotists are harder to hypnotize because they try to analyze what's going on -- and, I admit, there's a bit of ego involved about being hypnotized by another hypnotist. But often it's just lack of rapport. If you have good rapport, and the subject wants to please you, it's much easier to ...

What did you say after "sleep"? The shock of the command "sleep!" just opens a window of opportunity for you to make further suggestions. So what you say afterward is just as important. You need to take advantage of the opportunity and keep making suggestions. Something like this...

Hypnosis doesn't work for everybody, but the hypnotist's skill is a factor in your success as well as your innate hypnotizability. So it's possible that you just had a bad hypnotist, or one who you didn't have rapport with. If money is an issue, you could try hypnosis MP3s (which are about 1/10th th...

The Donner Party - Notker the Stammerer

This is a band that was active during the late 1980s in California. Not a lot of people know about them, but they're really fantastic if you like indie/garage pop/rock/folk.

Thank you! Was it useful for you to go through it? I had a few sessions when I was in university, and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. I think it was helpful, but not completely life-changing. It was helpful to hear another person affirm that I should be doing what I wanted to do, and ...

Well, it sounds to me like there isn't a good fit here. The few times I've been to career counselling, the counsellor asked a lot of questions and provided some insights. Some counsellors might do personality testing and make suggestions based on that. So if you're doing all the talking, and your co...

I've been doing job interviews lately and I don't actually expect anybody to be totally honest about their weaknesses. If you do present a weakness, you should tell the interviewer what you're doing about it or how to get around it. I would respect a candidate who says something like: "When I'm...

If you do decide to resume counselling, you should tell your counsellor everything you told us. Different clients want different things--many people really do just want somebody to listen to them and nod sympathetically--and your counsellor won't know what you want out of the sessions unless you tel...

Re: Hypnosis to Find Something

I need to find something I've misplaced between now and Monday. If hypnosis can help, please send me a recommendation for a hypnotist (practically speaking over Skype) as soon as possible. Feel free to send me a message with the name, website (if there is on), background in hypnosis, hourly rate an...
