Same Mistake Twice

"It's one thing to make the same mistake twice, another thing to make it all of your life." A song lyric from one of my favorite bans, 311, but also holds true to where I now find myself. Honestly, I find it somewhat pathetic that I started this thread over 3 years ago and find myself only...

Sober Benefit

It's official. rise_above has a date lined up with a beautiful girl. I can't remember the last date I was on... That's how long it's been. I can promise you this wouldn't have happened had I been smoking like I used to. Even though I've kind of been struggling this year, smoking here and there, I re...

Farhan, what you said about doing what you know is right in your heart really inspired me. If I put this simple advice into practice I believe a lot of aspects of my life would improve. Calliope, I understand exactly what you mean about wanting to socialize, but going out of your way to smoke up. I ...

Yes, that's perfectly normal. I even get a little depressed for a couple days after only 3-5 consecutive days of smoking. The friend situation you mentioned was an issue for me as well, however, I have made friends that don't smoke over the past year or so. It just takes time and determination. I've...

Thanks for the encouragement wakinglife. The dedication is definately there. It just has to be maintained for life. No compromise, no retreat, no surrender. The thing that has usually tended to spark a relapse is some pseudo-belief in my mind that I can somehow keep weed incorporated in my life to w...

Humbled/ Thought Flow

Well, this year has been pretty good, as far as my weed addiction goes... I have managed to smoke less this year than any other year since I was 18 (25 now). I've probably smoked 50 days this year with the majority of that smoking being daily smoking in January and part of Febuary. However, I am sti...

Wazzblazin'

If you smoke again, especially more than once in a short amount of time, you will experience a withdrawal, but it won't be as intense as say if you were smoking everyday for months/years. I've been down that road too many times.

It is probably/most probably better to quit all substances that alter perceptions, but I will say that it is more feasable to have a couple drinks than it is to have a couple hits of herb and maintain a sober lifestyle. When you smoke weed, you are stoned. Granted, the high can vary in intensity, bu...

My Advice (The One Month Challenge)

If you are just starting out quitting or thinking about quitting, my best advice is to quit for at least a month to get all the THC out of you. You will be amazed at how much more positivity and energy you have. If you are scared or skeptical about quitting weed "forever," just set a time ...

That Old Trade of Positivity

Somthing suddenly hit me this evening. I was thinking back to how I was 8-10 years ago, back before I smoked herb daily. I used to be a very positive individual. People used to come to me with problems walking away feeling better about their circumstances. I had a very effective way of dealing objec...

The last time I shoplifted was about 4 years ago (when I was 21). I considered myself pretty good at it as well, though I didn't do it that often. I actually got caught the last time did it, one night trying to steal beer from a Wal-Mart after beer buying hours. I was heading to a campsite party and...

Tokeless, I find it interesting that you never experienced any physical symptoms when you quit. I have friends that still smoke, but quit from time to time for drug tests, and nearly all of them experience some sort of eating disorder. That being said, they didn't portray any signs of being depresse...

When did you go 2 months without? If it was pretty recent, or if you can reflect back to how things were then, you may have some fuel to throw on the flames of abstinence. Personally, I find it amazing that you were able to successfully complete college, and take care of your relationships whilst sm...
